For Sale: 1969 Plymouth GTX in Stanwood, Michigan

Vehicle Description

Offered for sale is a true 1969 Plymouth GTX with a Period Correct High Performance 440ci V8 Engine, 727 Torqueflite Three (3) Speed Automatic Transmission, and an 8 ¾ Rear End.

The VIN is RS23L9A228274, and the mileage is 108,050 miles, which is believed to be actual miles based on the title history.  The 440 engine block number is 253643010 and is dated November 15, 1968, which I understand is within the range of period correct for a 1969 GTX.

The super clean 440ci V8 engine is not stock, but rather has been rebuilt and built-up to put out over 500 horse power with its performance CAM, solid lifters, Edelbrock intake, high performance Holley double pumper carburetor, Hooker headers, and high flow exhaust ending just the past the mufflers.  This beast of a MOPAR is built to run very fast  down the  quarter mile at the track, with aftermarket gauges, a B&M Pro Ratchet racing shifter, and larger than stock tires.

While the 440 engine is not stock, with its correct Dark Metallic Green paint (F8), Fresh Air Hood with Air Grabber (N96), Bucket Seats (C55), and Longitudinal Red Stripe (V6R), the rest of the car is correct to the fender tag.

This MOPAR was restored in the late 1990s, and still shows very well.  The body lines are straight, and there is no visible rust or rust bubbles.  The body filler test showed no signs of body filler in those areas where body filler is most commonly found, with signs of body filler measuring only 1/16th of an inch in a few areas, primarily at the bottom of the doors….please see pictures.

The paint has some chips and small scratches, and there are some very minor waves in just a few areas.  The glass is good, and the undercarriage is solid with what looks like factory applied undercoating.  The bumpers are good, with some light pitting.  The truck lid chrome trim and chrome taillight bezels have noticeable pitting.  The 440 emblems on the passenger side of the car are missing.  The interior is good, but shows signs of wear.  The headliner is a bit dirty, and the liner along the back window pillars is loose, and will need to be repaired/replaced.

The brakes do not operate well, and will need to be repaired.  The windshield wiper motor is missing, and will need to be replaced.  The trunk lid has a fairly large dent, which should be relatively easy for a body shop to repair.

Two sets of wheels/tires are included with the sale – a set of BF Goodrich Radial T/A P255/70R14 tires on Magnum 500 wheels, and a set of LeMans Radial SR P255/60R15 tires on steel wheels.

Please call Paul at 231-359-1036 if you should have any questions.  Thank you!
