Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta is proud to offer this original and
well-kept Pimento Red 1976 Triumph TR6 Convertible. This car has
driven less than 40,000 miles since new and according to the owner,
has previously been garage-kept, covered, well-maintained, and
never been in an accident. This car is said and tested to "run and
drive like a top" and we are here to confirm this statement. From
the factory, this TR6 came with the matching hard top as well as
overdrive, which are some very desirable and rare options.
The TR6 is powered by Triumph's classic 2.5-liter OHV inline-six
engine with two Zenith Stromberg carburetors. Horsepower,
compression, and torque figures varied for TR6 models over the
eight-year production history, but continued to provide strong
torque throughout the mid-range and higher rpms. Power is provided
to the wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission that shifts
beautifully. The handling of this car is surprisingly sharp, and
the brakes stop very swiftly. After driving this vehicle, there is
no question that this car was carefully and properly maintained
while being pampered when not on the road.
The Pimento Red TR6 boasts original paint, with very few defects to
note. The detachable steel hardtop and convertible top are also
original, and seem to be in good condition. All trim and lights are
said to be in excellent working condition, and there are very few
small chips and defections noted around the vehicle. The body lines
all show very straight and as they should, which makes sense
considering that this vehicle is stated to have never been in an
accident.
Open the door to find a gorgeous and original brown vinyl interior.
The upholstery shows very well, and is matched with a tonneau cover
and door panels of the same brown. The wood trim on the dash shows
no cracking or defects, and encapsulates the clean original gauges.
Place your hands around the leather wrapped steering wheel to feel
the authenticity of English engineering and finishing, and look on
the left side of the steering column to find the Overdrive shaft
mounted. Finding an original TR6 with just less than 40,000 miles
and factory-original hardtop and overdrive is no easy task. Give us
a call today to secure this rare classic!
