4.5L V8 motor which routes power to the front wheels through an
automatic transmission. The selling owner notes that this Allante
received new fuel injectors, a new fuel filter, spark plugs, a
power brake relay, a Delco air conditioning compressor and
evaporator, power window motors, and a cooling fan module, all from
AllanteSource. Another point worth noting is the aluminum
hardtop!
Externally this Allante wears the original Pearl White color which
is accented by the black power soft top and red leather interior.
Cadillac installed a digital gauge cluster along with other luxury
features to set the Allante apart from other vehicles available in
the late 80s/early 90s.
The unusual production arrangement between Italian body designer
Pininfarina and US Based Cadillac resulted in a sport luxury car
that was quite pricey coming in at close to $60,000 in 1987 after
the gas guzzler tax was paid. The bodies were shipped in specially
equipped Boeing 747s, 56 at a time over 7 years with production
totaling 21,430 cars. They were sent from Italy to Detroit, MI
where the drivetrains were fitted and finally assembly was
finished. With bold styling and full of luxury features including
