Vehicle Description
This 1952 Mercury Monterey is impressive right down to the details.
So you'll appreciate everything from the classic fender skirts to
the working AM radio. And it's all these little things that add up
to a well-restored V8 hardtop that cruises with premium
distinction.
The first-generation Monterey had a terrific premium flair. You
paid extra for a Mercury, and so they showcased this style with
plenty of chrome surrounding every inch. These really had a
distinct look with the grille and the bumper part of an integral
design. And you see the same in the rear where the ends of the
bumper expand to merge with the hint of tailfin. And even the
brightwork details are great, like the full-length trim, hood
ornament merged with a hood scoop, and factory wheel covers with
the bright red Mercury logo at the center. And speaking of red, the
Fanfare Maroon is a beautiful color that's both vivid and premium.
And the Pebble Tan roof nicely showcases the hardtop and wraparound
rear glass. It's all part of an older frame-off restoration that
has been treated with the kind of care that will continue to make
this a hit at cruise-ins and car shows.
The deep red continues inside for a well-coordinated attitude with
the exterior. It's now joined by a nice gray on the door panels,
headliner, and comfy cloth seat inserts. The smooth dash, plush
carpeting, clear gauges, and clean steering wheel are all part of
the inviting feeling of a nice driver. You'll love rolling down all
the windows on this pillarless hardtop and going for a cruise. And
driving feels like a true time warp right down to details like the
aircraft-inspired controls around the working AM radio.
The flathead V8 is always a great sight to see, especially because
this 255 cubic-inch unit was a larger size reserved for the premium
Mercury cars. Everything looks quite tidy here, including the bold
green block and those dual hoses doing a 90-degree dive into the
motor. It's all quite vintage, and they took care to keep it that
way because the odometer likely represents the full mileage. So
it's a true classic. That's why it has an unmistakable vintage feel
on the road. But features like the smooth-shifting automatic
transmission and the Mercury's easy cruising nature make it a fun
classic driver. And as you look underneath, the boxed frame for
added strength and overall clean style give you added confidence
when going down the road.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, wiring diagram,

attitude. So if you love a proper classic, this one is
