This 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Club Victoria is upgraded with a few
mild customizations that make this '58 Ford a fantastic 50s
cruiser. 1958 was a down year across the American automotive
industry, due in part to an economic recession and the public's
apprehension to buy new cars at a time of such uncertainty. When
the 1958 Ford models debuted to the public on November 7, 1957, the
big story was the introduction of the new 4-seater Thunderbird but
the passenger cars underwent a substantial redesign as well. With
new "Safety-Twin" dual headlights, a new faux Thunderbird-esque
hood scoop, a new honeycomb grille design, anodized gold beltline
side trim, and a new-look taillight setup, the '58 Fords had a look
unlike anything available from FoMoCo in the previous model years.
The Fairlane 500 was the top-of-the-line passenger car model for
Ford in 1958 and sat atop a 118 inch wheelbase. Unlike the
Hide-Away Hardtop Retractable, the roof line on the 2-Door hardtop
"Victoria" featured a smooth "swept-back" line whereas the
Retractable was more squared off. This particular 1958 Fairlane 500
comes to us from a collector who took exceptionally good care of
the car while under their ownership and previously it spent nearly
20 years in Arkansas. A later model 390 Cubic Inch V8 engine paired
with a Holley single 4 barrel carburetor provides plenty of power
to this '58 Ford. The NOM 390 V8 is backed by a C6 automatic
transmission that makes it easy for anybody to take the 1958
Fairlane 500 for a spin around the block. Exhaust exits the updated
390 V8 via a dual exhaust setup that give this Ford Club Victoria a
great throaty sound. This 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 sports several
fantastic options! With the addition of power brakes, along with an
upgraded dual master brake cylinder, this 1958 Ford comes to a stop
much more easily and also with much more reliability. Power
steering is also a welcome addition since it makes maneuvering this
'58 Ford in and out of tight spaces at the local ice cream shop or
car show a total breeze. Riding on a brand new set of 205/70R15
Hankook Radial Tires wrapped around American Racing chrome rims,
this '58 Fairlane 500 has a great look and even better ride. The
chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this 1958 Ford is in
very nice shape and present quite well. The Indian Turquoise body
and Colonial White hardtop complete the exterior two-tone look on
this classic 50's Ford cruiser. The mild custom interior on this
Ford is marvelous! The front and rear bench seats have been
reupholstered in a two-tone Turquoise and White vinyl that matches
the exterior look of the car, and the rear bench seat is accented
by custom white embroidery reading "Fairlane 500." The turquoise
painted dash, door panels, and steering wheel are all in wonderful
shape as well and retain a nice stock appearance. The dash is
equipped with a 120 MPH speedometer, temperature gauge, and fuel
gauge, as well as an AM radio and clock. A trifecta of AutoGage
auxiliary gauges are tucked neatly under the dash and consist of a
temperature gauge, volt gauge, and oil pressure gauge. Whether
you're buying your first classic car or you're adding to your
FoMoCo collection, this 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Club Victoria would
make an excellent choice. Give us a call today!
