For Sale: 1977 Frazer TT Roadster in Grand Rapids, Michigan
1977 Frazer Nash Roadster Replica - Built Off A 1977 Volkswagen
Beetle - 1600cc 4 Cylinder - 4 Speed Manual Transmission - Red Over
Black Interior - Ford Wire Wheels Frazer Nash was a British sports
car company who manufactured automobiles starting in 1922. Founded
by Archie Nash and his friend Ron Godfrey, the Frazer Nash company
conducted their initial business under the GN cyclecar company,
which debuted in 1909. But their partnership didn't last long when
they split in 1922 and Nash began making his own cars by buying GN
components and adding a new body. The first true Frazer Nash was
made in 1924 and was correspondingly basic, with a wooden chassis
carrying a V-twin JAP engine and a primitive two-speed
transmission. Crude as this vehicle was, it met a genuine need for
a light sporting vehicle that fell between the
motor-cycle-and-sidecar and the small car. Initially offered as two
basic models, the Fast Tourer and the Super Sports, the names for
these vehicles referred to the state of their tuning rather than
any other differences. Frazer Nash vehicles were produced to
individual order and the customer had the final say on chassis
length, gear ratios, body work and equipment. The only similar
competitor was Bugatti whose vehicle models were a good deal more
expensive. A major setback came only months after the Frazer Nash
company had gotten underway when they had to switch power units
which in turn involved a major redesign of the chassis. This eroded
the company's cash reserves to the point of danger and even seeking
out alternative engine options did not solve their problem. Offered
here is a Frazer Nash Replica that has been built off a Volkswagen
Beetle chassis. Housing a 1600 cc 4-cylinder engine with 4-speed
manual transmission, this vehicle is true to its British sports car
roots. Sporting a red over black color combination and Ford wire
wheels, it apparent that this replica is a tasteful ode to its
original heritage. With vintage touches like a wooden steering
wheel and flip-down windscreen as well as modern updates like an
AM/FM aftermarket radio, its clear that this vintage-style sports
car is uniquely one-of-a-kind. Although this may not be a pristine
replica example, we guarantee that any owner will receive loads of
smiles and 'thumbs up' while on the road. If you are in the market
for a British marque in your collection that is more of a bargain
than the highly desired MGs or Triumphs, this Frazer Nash might
just be the vehicle for you. We hope that you consider it for your
next purchase. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific
questions. Thank you for looking.
