Vehicle Description
1970 Plymouth Barracuda For Sale - One Of Only 36 N-Code 383/335hp
Convertibles Legendary Motorcar is proud to offer for sale this
1970 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible. In 1970, the Plymouth
Barracuda entered its second generation. Instead of the A-Body, the
Barracuda was now based on the new E-Body platform, which also
underpinned its stablemate, the Dodge Challenger. The Barracuda is
slightly smaller and lighter than its Dodge cousin, with a more
squared-up appearance and single headlights as opposed to the
Challenger's dual units. Ultimately, the E-Bodies would be some of
the final performance cars produced by Chrysler, as the onslaught
of soaring fuel and insurance costs shifted the market away from
muscle and more towards "personal luxury." This 1970 Barracuda
Convertible is a fine example of one of Chrysler's most iconic
designs. Built on September 19th, 1969 at the Hamtramck, Michigan
plant, the original owner ordered their Barracuda Convertible in
FY1 Lemon Twist paint with a white vinyl interior and white
convertible top. This car is powered by the higher horsepower
N-code 383 cubic inch big-block V8 engine producing 335hp equipped
with a single four-barrel carburetor hiding underneath the N96
Shaker hood. Combined with the strong and smooth TorqueFlite
automatic transmission, makes for a delightful cruiser. Only 36
N-code 383ci Barracuda convertibles were built at the factory in
1970 making this example extremely rare and desirable. Due to its
rarity this example has been subject to a complete rotisserie
restoration. The paint is stunning and the interior completely
re-done to how it left the factory. The engine compartment and
383ci engine has been detailed correctly with factory style
finishes. The undercarriage is painted and detailed to show
quality. Mopars of this era continue to climb in desirability and
value. With its rare options, limited production, and wonderful
colors, this Barracuda is sure to please both its owner and those
who are lucky enough to catch a glimpse as it glides down your
favorite road. Additional Details: 1970 PLYMOUTH BARRACUDA -
