very affordable and nice-looking driver that is ready to provide
you with many spirited top down rides. This 1973 Mercedes Benz
450SL has been in the same ownership since 1982 and lovingly cared
for. This car is very original and even includes the original
Protect-O-Plate. This sporty little classic German roadster is
painted silver, and the finish has been well maintained and
presents with a nice luster. The bumpers and related stainless is
showing some light patina but still shines brightly with the bumper
rub strips showing some light wear as well but still presenting
very nicely. The body has been treated previously to a complete
rust proofing and there are no signs of any rust or accident
repair. This car features two tops; a matching silver hardtop and a
black canvas top. The canvas top is lightly faded but intact with
no visible tears or holes and the rear windows also show some light
yellowing. The trunk is clean, and the factory jack and related
tools are present along with the spare. The floor has some light
surface rust but free of any rust through and the factory vinyl mat
is still in place. The cabin of the car is in original condition
showing some light wear as expected from a 50-year-old vehicle. The
black leather seats are well worn in with some heavy creases in the
upholstery and some cracking, however the material remains soft and
pliable. The carpet also shows some sun fading as well but is free
of any heavy wear or rips/tears. The dash is outfitted with full
instrumentation including temperature, oil pressure and tachometer,
and a dash mounted clock. The factory sound system was updated with
an Alpine AM/FM tuner with cassette with rear mounted Kenwood 3-way
speakers. Other options include cruise control, power windows,
power steering and brakes and A/C conditioning. Under the hood
presents as very original, with many factory markings and decals
still present. The spirited 4.5L V8 runs well and transfers power
through a 3-speed automatic to the independent rear suspension. The
undercarriage is original but is well maintained, with a fresh fuel
pump and filter and exhaust system. The car runs on the factory 14
steel wheels with factory wheel covers and wrapped in Firestone
FT70c radial tires. This really is a nice-looking and affordable
car that has been well cared for. It will make a great summertime
cruiser to drive to work on nice days, make trips to the beach, or
take a lovely weekend trip. Wherever, you go you will have the
