1992 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4
The origin of the word Silverado is confusing and varied with each
page you do research from. It has several meanings, however for
this description we will just say it is a truck made by Chevrolet
and is wildly popular.
For consignment a low mileage, (46,144 title verified), example of
the Silverado pickup truck right out of 1992. This example is well
preserved, has nice paint, a snazzy interior, a matching cap and
rubber bed liner. Pick up at Classic Auto Mall, turn key and go to
work!
Exterior
Nice straight steel is fashioned in an aero style with rounded
corners for the grille as it takes the egg crate center, three
chromed bars and rectangular corner lighting all as it melts into
the front quarters. Door gaps are straight and well minded, and a
rocker running board is on to easily access the cab. Dark red is
spraying the uppers then a red pinstripe is delineating the line
between the red and silver reserved for the center of the truck,
then the red takes over at the rockers and has a black plastic
trimming in its center running the length of the sides. The rear
cap is matching deep red and has tinted glass on either side and a
top bump up for extra space. Nicely polished bumpers have rubber
coverings in the back, and in front a rubber band to help protect
the front bumper. There is a hitch mounted to the cove in the rear
bumper and it is highly polished just like the bumper. A CHEVROLET
badge is on the tailgate, and just above the tinted flip up cap
window. Chromed mirrors are hanging off of either side of the
doors. Black flush mounted door handles are on and from the front
fog lighting to the rear hitch this truck presents in excellent
condition, very straight and very clean.
Interior
Inside we pass by red velour covered door panels that have
horizontal ribbed tuck and roll broadcloth for the uppers, then
some red velour for the middle and red carpeting for the lowers.
Power windows and power lock buttons are mounted here as well as
the inset actuator and red armrests. Inside the ribbed red velour
continues with the tuck and roll inserts and smooth broadcloth
velour bolsters, (much like suede). These chairs are a 60%
passenger and 40% driver configuration, and have open headrests.
For the dash, deep red is providing the edging for the dash top and
lowers, while square and rectangle design has the instrument
cluster covered along with plenty of buttons for all controls all
in gray plastic form. A digital green readout AM/FM radio with more
pushbuttons for controls is to drivers right, along with a digital
readout temp panel with more buttons. In the center of the dash is
a factory mounted cassette player.. Plenty of AC vents, clean red
carpeting, and a fuzzy broadcloth headliner also in red complete
this nicely buttoned up interior.
Drivetrain
A pop of the hood and I'll just say WOW! Talk about showroom
finish; it looks like it just drove off the floor! A 5.7 Liter V8
with EFI and a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with a 10 bolt
rear axle and you are ready to haul, goods or some ass! Supple
hoses and wiring and nary a speck of dirt on this engine bay. As a
bonus for those gas station fluid checks, a retractable underhood
light is on from the factory.
Undercarriage
Some surface rust is noted on suspension and framing in the rear of
the truck, but all remains structurally sound. Stamped floor pans
and rocker framing is painted black and is rust free. Independent
torsion bar front suspension is in and leaf springs for the rear.
Power disc braking for the front and power drums for the rear. A
stock single exhaust is in and showing surface rust but no
holes.
Drive-Ability
This well preserved example fired right up and off to the test
track wherein performed flawlessly. Smooth acceleration, boss free
panic stopping and braking, and a wonderful smooth ride. All
functions were working just perfectly.

could stop here. It's in beautifully preserved and well cared for
condition, clean as a whistle, and had a beautiful comfy interior
