Vehicle Description
1996 Chevrolet S10 Blazer 4x4
The Chevy Blazer was one of Chevy's most popular SUVs, as many
loyal Chevy fans will attest to. Before the name Sport Utility
Vehicle and its acronym were essentially ubiquitous, Chevy built
the 1983 S-10 Blazer to be sportier and more manageable than the
competition, the Ford Bronco, and Jeep Wagoneer. Clearly, Chevy was
onto something because the Blazer helped usher in the lasting trend
of SUVs. In fact, another very popular Chevy SUV, the Tahoe,
actually originated as one of the Blazer's first trims. To the
disappointment of many of its loyal fans, the full sized Blazer was
discontinued after the 1994 model year.
For consignment, the early years for the smaller, more nimble, but
just as tough 87,960 mile Blazer from the bowtie company. This 1996
is a 1 owner truck, has always been garaged, has a new 10/23 PA
inspection sticker, and is loaded with options, graced with nice
paint, and interior cloth all very clean. and all very original.
"Climb Every Mountain!"...
Exterior
This small 4x4 sports an exterior with factory Light Blue Metallic
bathing straight steel panels minding their gaps. A small fender
dent from an impatient driver 20 plus years ago is seen but is
mostly unremarkable. Upfront a large shiny grille sports a single
square headlight and side signal in orange. A black bug guard is
above and below a black neoprene crash bumper. Some black side
trimmings and black tinted window surrounds as well as a black roof
rack, add a nice contrast to this small 4x4 which has a big
presence in the photos. In back a nice lift gate with spare tire,
more curved tinted glass for the rear hatch and another black
neoprene bumper framing the bottom. 15-inch stock wheels are on and
all wrapped up in 235/75R15's on all 4 corners. Get your "groover"
on!
Interior
Behind that tinted glass are charcoal gray dimpled pattern
broadcloth door panels which make much ado with the molded vinyl
panels and their power toggles and buttons for the glass, locks and
mirror adjustments. The original GM dash continues with more use of
the gray molded vinyl and a large black panel in front of the
driver houses all the gauges. Broadcloth dimpled gray power
adjustable buckets for the driver and a manual seat for the
passenger are in front of this dash and a large center
console/storage/cupholder is between the seats. As it rises to the
dash an AM/FM/Cassette player is in as well as the climate
controls. Gray carpeting is flooding the floors including the clean
cargo area behind the rear 2 bucket seat/bench broadcloth covered
seats. Up top is another console sporting lighting and various drop
down storage cubbies. The back of the truck has lots-o-cargo space
nicely carpeted, and the black seats can be folded down for even
more.
Drivetrain
A factory 4.3 Liter V6 which is extremely clean and nicely detailed
sits under the large hood. This has EFI, and a 3 speed automatic
4L60E transmission. A 10 bolt 3.42 is the axle designation in back
with a matching ratio axle in the front.
Undercarriage
A rust free black painted frame runs around the entire perimeter of
this truck. The rockers are solid steel and the factory spray paint
can still be seen on the floor pans. Power disc brakes are in
front, and power drums on the back. A single pipe exhaust is
showing and no drips or wet areas whatsoever on this lower end.
Drive-Ability
This truck and its 4.3 Liters fired right up and driving is a
pleasure. All comfy on the ergonomic front for the interior, smooth
acceleration and bias free panic stopping. Our consignor notes that
all new are the alternator, battery, water pump, oil cooler lines,
radiator hoses and exhaust. The upper rear gate would not stay open
so we used a wood plank.
A nicely preserved exterior paint and interior dimpled comfy and
warm gray broadcloth along with plenty of options present overall
nicely. It runs great and can carry you and a few of your friends
and all of their gear easily. Get to climbin'!
