Vehicle Description
2015 Ford Mustang GT 50th Anniversary
The decision makers at Ford have always had a flair for the
dramatic and a sense of history to go along with it, and its
executive team managed to combine both traits for the 2014 New York
International Auto Show. During the extravaganza, company chairman
Bill Ford traveled to the Empire State Building's observation deck
on the 86th floor, but he did not go alone. The great-grandson of
Henry Ford brought along a bright yellow 2015 Mustang for all of
the world to see, and the excitement for the upcoming Sixth
Generation pony car reached a fever pitch. A little closer to the
ground, inside the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, the
team at Ford also revealed the special 50th Anniversary Mustang to
much fanfare. One of the rarest special edition Mustangs ever made,
the Ford Motor Company produced only 1,964 units. In an effort to
pay tribute to the very first mustangs, the 50th Anniversary
editions were only available in a pair of 1964.5 paint codes:
Wimbledon White and Kona Blue. Thx to Cjponyparts.com
Classic Auto Mall brings you this absolutely amazing sixth
generation 2015 Mustang GT in 50th Anniversary trim. The fun-loving
Mustang has become a personal luxury car that's classy enough to
make some Audi or BMW buyers think twice while retaining that
tire-smoking exuberance expected of an American icon. Our version
number #1339 of 1964 units built and sports a mere 370.7 miles
clocked. Complete with its Anniversary package information kit, a
no issues Mustang GT finished in this beautiful Anniversary only
Kona Blue paint with a Black and Cashmere leather interior. This
Mustang is in great shape inside and out. All it needs is a new
home!
Exterior
Factory applied near flawless Kona Blue paint washes over this
menacing pony, and covers all surfaces very nicely and gives a
salute to its brethrenthat came before it. While chrome was all the
rage in the 60's, that trend has faded lately, but has been
resurrected on the 50th Anniversary Mustang with some highlighting
around the grille, side glass and tail lights as well as the
venerable 5.0 fender badging. Lest we forget chrome wheels in 19"
format that give a nod to the 1964.5 wheels. Bright HID projector
lensed headlights show the way and down low is a distinctlower
spoiler to help direct cool air to the big Coyote V8 under the
hood. For some extra cool, galloping horses projected in LED glory
as a courtesy light when entering the car at night. More salutes to
the Mustangs of yore appear in the quarter glass, that is actually
multiple panes of glass worked together to mimic the louvers found
on the original fastback design. Keeping things on the straight and
true is a spoiler delete for the trunk lidand wide rocker fairings
round out the bottom of the car nicely. We note the blacked out
tail panel with faux gas cap with its GT badging and 50 Years,
letting those behind you know this is in fact, a special model.
Interior
As you step past the pony lighted threshold you enter into an
environment that is fit for a jumbo jet pilot including a push
button start and some chrome toggles round it all out. The full
stitched leather buckets grab you and suck you in behind the wheel.
For the Anniversary model, you got smooth black leather for the
bolsters and perforated Cashmere, (white), leather all white crisp
white stitching. Not only are these front buckets power actuated,
they are both heated and cooled to keep your posterior at just the
right temperature baby bear. A wheel that has controls for voice
command and cell phone, music volume, cruise control, and
interaction with the sync system. Glowing digital gauges guide you
through various specifics of performance including the fact that
you are most likely speeding! A large screen, upgraded from 4" to
8" Sync 3 System/Touch Screen above the console allows you to
access various media including a shaker sound system, back up camera
and navigation. LED rimmed cup holders are just over the top and
the factory short shifter with black leather and white stitching
rounds out the console. Not to be overlooked is the Anniversary
build plaque nested under the black padded dual eyebrow dash
Drivetrain
A 5.0 L Coyote V8 pumps out 420hp and is just as clean as the day
it was installed. All this power is sent back to the rear wheels
through a MT82 6-speed manual transmission and fries the tires via
a Torsen limited slip 3.73 geared differential. With the factory
installed strut tower brace, there is no shortage of performance
under the hood.
Undercarriage
Clean, Mean, and Pristine, with all the latest tech to keep you
rubber to road. 4-wheel power disc brakes with Brembos up front,
check. Dual exhaust, check. 4-wheel independent suspension with a
unique suspension tune and GT Performance Pack larger rear sway
bar, check. All looking factory new and fresh down below.
Drive-Ability
With the push of that aforementioned button, the 5.0 liters come to
life, and we are off to the test track to hunt Road Runners. Nice
power, plenty of good handling, and quick panic stopping were
afforded to us during the test drive. All functions were working
just perfectly for us. Woooooah!!!! this baby is low low miles.
Keep the odometer under 371 please.
This low low mileage car, 370.7 to be exact, is just getting broken
in. Offered at a competitive price, and only a few years old, this
deserves a close look because you can get a lot of muscle for your
money and being a limited edition Anniversary Car definitely
holds some collectibility for the future. But if it was me, I'd
drive it...just ask my 151,000 mile Prius.
