Vehicle Description
1969 Chevrolet C-10 Pickup
If you love old Chevy and GMC trucks it might be because you have
memories from when you were a kid riding in one of those early
models. Or you might just love the classic lines and the way they
look. The C series is a line of GM 2-wheel drive trucks, while the
K series is a line of GM 4-wheel drive trucks. Beginning in 1960,
trucks of this generation were named as 10, 20, and 30 series to
represent the 1/2, 3/4, and 1-ton versions of GM's light truck
line. Introduced for the 1960 model year, the C/K series was
marketed by Chevrolet until 2002 in the United States, (GMC
marketed the series from 1960 to 1987).
For consignment, a C-10 right out of 1969 and looking like it just
drove off the showroom floor. The beneficiary of a frame off
restoration, it has some lowering to make it more...well,
lower..and has literally been completely redone, now looking the
part. Read ON!
Exterior
Blue on blue bathes the straight steel panels of this truck. Paint
is very good and no rust within miles of this truck's exterior. The
cab roof is painted blue, badging is shiny and correct, and all
glass and surrounding gaskets are like new. Gaps are nicely minded
throughout, and the grille up front is looking spiffy. The bumpers
are hanging in there as well and looking in good condition with
absolutely no rust. Just behind the cab is the bed which looks like
it just exited the factory spray booth, with nary a mark on it. The
bed sides and tailgate are excellent with no scratches for dings.
The tailgate has C H E V R O L E T badging in 3D type painted
black. On each corner is a 17-inch Ridler highly polished 5 spoke
wheel wrapped in Hankook rubber from the 10th week of 2020.
Interior
A swing of the doors and we see a mid door black vinyl panel which
houses the actuators and cranks, as well as the armrest. On its
upper edge is an exterior matching blue paint, and this is also in
the lowers. Inside, your eyes are bowled over by some blue accents
in the form of a vinyl bench with more Sheridan style embossed
inserts and a stitched faux tuck and roll center and smooth
bolsters. The steering wheel is black and it fronts the original
dash which is mainly blue, and has a black textured instrument
panel housing pristine condition gauges in front of the wheel. The
black padded vinyl takes the handoff from the blue on the dash
topper. Above, the headliner is solid ribbed steel painted blue,
and below like new blue carpeting is installed and looking
great!
Drivetrain
Upfront under the hood is now a GM 350ci V8 in its orange red
painted block and heads painted glory. The engine bay is clean and
no rust with supple wiring and hoses. This mill is topped with a
4-barrel Holley carburetor and has a 3-speed automatic TH400
transmission making this truck a three on the tree. Looking clean
and original under here. Way back is a 12 bolt rear axle.
Undercarriage
Underneath you'll need to buy a mirror to show it off as well due
to it being so spectacularly well cone. No road dirt, no rust, just
clean unadulterated steel framing in black forming and clean black
steel for the flooring. Independent coil sponges and a 3 link with
coil springs is now in. Power disc braking for the front, and power
drums for the back. The seats were so comfy that I barely noticed
we left with a smashed the throttle.
Drive-Ability
A quick starter and it ran just great on the test track. Solid
braking, and handling like a truck! All functions were working
during my drive but we did note various leaks on the ground after
the truck sat awhile. This truck has some "guts" as they used to
say
Imagine "your name here" on the sides of this classic as you roll
up to a job site to check on your minions. A classic C10, new
paint, clean engine, snazzy interior and definitely a worker bee,
....or is a C, yeah C10!
