Vehicle Description
Lincoln is the big "L" in the premium car world, and this 1998
Lincoln Mark VIII has all the right "L"s to elevate the experience:
loaded, luxurious, and long-term ownership. And don't forget that
beneath all of this is a fully independent suspension, four-wheel
disc brakes, and the kind of fuel-injected V8 that also powered the
best Mustangs of the day.
Lincoln really went for an exceptional level of style on the Mark
VIII. It looks like they took up all the time at Ford's wind tunnel
until everything from the headlights to the rear fenders had a
swept-back look created by speed. Even the hallmark continental
spare tire hump in the trunk got the aerodynamic treatment. So it's
hard not to be impressed with the design as it has matured into a
proper classic. The Silver Frost Metallic paint has a timeless
sense of style. This is the factory application, and it shows
exceptional care on this actual mileage car. One reason we know it
has received such good respect over the decades is that this is a
two-owner Lincoln, and the second owner had it for about 20 years.
So while there are a few signs of age as this approaches the
quarter-century mark, the real overall impression is about how
great the paint looks and how nice the body is so that this sleek
coupe continues to look slippery in the sunshine. Plus, this loves
to impress with the details. The headlights are the updated factory
clear lens package, the trim wraps around the rear to frame the
unique tail light package, and 16-inch Enkei wheels give this an
individual level of sporty appeal.
As this coupe approaches the 25-year mark, it becomes eligible for
vintage car registration in some states. But when you look inside,
all you see is a ton of modern luxury. You have a tasteful gray
leather with the right touch of wood-like trim. Like a true luxury
Lincoln, this one is loaded with great features such as power
windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, a tilt steering column,
power steering, anti-lock brakes, dual airbags, rear defogger, the
premium AM/FM/cassette stereo w/CD changer, and automatic A/C
climate control. Your seat power-adjusts to the ideal position; the
tilt/telescoping steering column puts the wheel right where you
want it; and the dash is contoured to focus on you. So it's a
terrific driver's car, and as a true grand touring coupe, the trunk
holds far more than just a weekend's worth of luggage.
Under the hood is a terrific V8 powerhouse. InTech was Lincoln's
name for the 32-valve DOHC V8 shared across the Ford line. Oh yes,
this fuel-injected 4.6-liter motor is a close sibling to the
powerhouse that made the Mustang Mach 1 and SVT Cobra such
desirable cars. So you could even probably add some of the same
go-fast goodies from those other Modular V8s, but really, the
appeal to this stock and well-kept Mark VIII delivers its power
smoothly - that's exactly what you want in a Lincoln. Out on the
road, the fully independent suspension, upgraded coilover shocks,
and four-wheel disc brakes inspire confidence while also having a
luxury ride. And cruise control and the four-speed transmission
with highway-ready overdrive are all part of a great driving pack
to enjoy for trips near or far.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual packet, a
comprehensive service manual, two sets of keys, useful additional
components, and a car cover. This is the sleek and sporty modern
classic luxury coupe that has been given the proper respect to
remain an awesome cruiser. Call today!!!
