production and if you are lucky, good colors too. This beautifully
restored 1974 Super Duty Trans AM hits all those marks on every
count. It has taken the Silver Award at the Pontiac Oakland Club
National Convention and a 1rst Place award at the Dallas Autorama
in 2017. This is a heavily optioned car that still has its original
factory installed Code Y8 Super Duty Engine that has been treated
to a performance oriented rebuild and mated to a Tremec 5 Speed
manual Transmission. It has been carefully maintained and kept in
excellent condition. Every year has its best and most desirable
color. In 1974 it was the newly released Code 29 Admiralty Blue
that held that honor. All of this adds up to the very desirable and
collectable Pontiac you see here.
It is an above average car that has been owned by true Pontiac
Enthusiasts that have only tried to improve the car and make it
better. It has been maintained at a high level to win the awards
that it has. History is known all the way back to 1996 and the car
comes with some nice documentation. It is an original panel car, so
the body is very good with panel fitment that is above average. It
is an exceptional Trans AM. If you enjoy driving your cars, this is
the right Trans AM for you.
Only 943 of these powerful machines were built in 1974. Each one
equipped with the 2 year only Super Duty engine. This was the last
year we would see the 455 SD on a factory invoice and that marked
the end of the Super Duty era. Held by many as the last true muscle
car to come out of Detroit. Isn't that a fitting tribute to the
company that started the muscle car revolution in 1964 with the
