Wheels Over $480K was invested in this GT40 with custom engine work
by Dallas Performance, the premier house for turbo and Supercharged
Engine Design and Build. This GT40 is drivable and street-able,
having all the creature comforts of a modern car. This is the only
one ever built.. Though some may quibble that components of the
GT40 were developed outside the United States, the balance of the
vehicle was sourced directly from Detroit. Indeed, the GT40 program
was commissioned personally by Henry Ford II who was eager to win
the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race and, in the process, defeat
the Italian Ferraris. The GT40s would, in fact, win the race four
times in succession, 1966-1969, before leaving competition. Though
the years of competition for the GT40 have passed, the mystique
still inspires on the tracks and streets of America. GT40/P #2176
was inspired with one thought in mind; to be the fastest production
car in the world. Inspired originally by the desire to break the
Texas Standing Mile Record for a production vehicle. Modern
