check out this Ford F-100, which was Ford?s entry-level full-size
pickup truck until 1983. This example was made in Ford?s Claycomo,
Missouri factory on April 11, 1960. Cast in a silver primer, the
truck?s exterior is in overall satisfactory condition with a patina
of its own. The truck?s bodywork is straight and has been lowered,
the engine bay is extremely tidy while the cargo bay proudly sports
its surface scale. This F-100 rolls on mixed radials, size
225/50R16 in front and 225/60R16 in back, each one mounted to black
alloy wheels. The wheels and tires are all in very good condition.
This truck has a 110-inch wheelbase and a 5,000 GVWR. Under the
hood is a V-8 2004 Ford Crow Vic Interceptor engine that has been
converted to fuel injection. Backing the motor is three-speed
automatic transmission with a 3.89:1 rear end. Driver convenience
features include power brakes. Inside is a new red interior that
contrasts nicely with the exterior. The bench seat is in excellent
shape, as is the matching carpet. Even the headliner is very good
order though the dome light is inoperative. The inner door panels
and dashboard are all in overall good, original order. The fuel,
odometer and speedo gauges inop as well as the horn. A new,
floor-mounted shifter looks great. The 1960 Ford Trucks featured a
new grille that incorporated quad headlight bezels. The hood also
got new sculpturing and new side ornamentation. Several minor
improvements appeared, such as modified door latches, new door
seals, a redesigned armrest, a redesigned wiring harness with
multiplug sockets, and a cowl side fuse box and circuit breaker
box. Competition to this Ford in 1960 included Chevrolet?s C10,
Dodge?s C-series and GMC?s 1000. Ford fans, classic pickup truck
fans and anyone who can appreciate a vehicle challenge could use
this as a foundation to either bring it up to snuff or take it in a
completely different direction. Stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars
