The Ford Galaxie was always a staple in Ford's full-size line-up.
In 1962, Ford introduced the XL (Xtra Lively) trim level as the
highest trim level available on the Galaxie to compete with
Chevrolet's full-size Super Sport line-up. This 1962 Ford Galaxie
500XL Sunliner convertible is a very nice example of these great
Fords. Overall the Galaxie presents in very good condition. The
correct, Corinthian White exterior is in very good condition with
only minor defects present in the paint. Complimenting the
Corinthian White exterior is the factory 500XL trim and a set of
Black steel wheels with Ford "dog dish" hubcaps wrapped in
BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The White vinyl convertible top is in
very nice condition with no issues. The Red vinyl interior is in
very good condition with only minor wear present. Powering this
beautiful Galaxie 500XL is its 352 cubic inch V8 crate engine
backed by its 3-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission. Both
the engine and transmission perform just as they should with no
issue, and pull this full-size Ford down the road with ease. The
rear-end on this Galaxie has been upgraded to a later-model Ford
8.8" limited slip diff with disc brakes. This Ford Galaxie is
nicely optioned with features such as: power steering, 4-wheel
power disc brakes. AM/FM Retrosound stereo with Aux, power
convertible top, heater/defrost, remote trunk release, and variable
speed wipers. If you are in the market for a great driving
Full-size Ford that would present very well at your local car show
or cruise-in, then you will want to take a very close look at this
beautiful 1962 Ford Galaxie 500XL Sunliner.
