1935 Ford 5 Window, Rumble Seat Coupe
This car was owned by the same family from south eastern PA until just about 8 years ago. The current owner, on a trip down to the annual Hershey car show and swap meet, saw this car in a yard with a For Sale sign and promptly bought it up. Being a rodder and general car guy, he loved the flathead V8, which just has a nice rumble all it's own, even with a single exhaust.
Unfortunately, the owner was only able to enjoy the car for several years as he passed away last year and was reportedly working on the fuel system.
The car shows her age with some small dings and dents and a scratch or chip in the paint here and there, but overall is a very solid, presentable, original car. There is some "age rust/surface rust" on the undercarriage but no rot/rust through anywhere on the car.
The interior of the car is believed to be all original as well, sporting the original cloth door panels and seat and the heavy duty vinyl on the rumble seat in back. It all shows the wear and tear of 85+ years of use but would come back a bit with some minor repair and gentle but deep cleaning. The rumble seat is done in a burgundy vinyl that matches the dash board and window trim. The dash has Standard Waltham gauges (fuel, Speedo/Odo - which shows 59,000 miles-, Amps), a wood grain finished ash tray and four knobs. The headliner is stained and has a couple of small tears.
With the battery hooked up, everything works - lights, starter, wiper. She turns over easily too, but due to the disconnected fuel system, doesn't start. The family is not mechanically adept and can't work on the car to get her going and isn't in a position to have her towed somewhere and gone over.
The tires are Lester 6.00x16 wrapped around red wire wheels, that match the red pin stripe down the side.
This is a really solid, original car that can be enjoyed as she is and will certainly garner attention at cars shows and cruise nights and is a great starting point for a restoration if that is your thing.
Rolls easily, brakes work, steering works with ease.
Asking price on this great full bodied 5 window coupe is $16,500.
