Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1963 Chevrolet Impala
Coupe for your consideration. This vehicle was the recipient of a
frame off restoration in 2019 and remains in immaculate condition.
It is powered by a healthy 383ci stroker V8 that was freshly built
at the time of the restoration. Highlights of this motor include
new pistons, new six inch rods, new crank, new water pump, new oil
pan, new 555 roller cam and lifters, new aluminum heads, an
Edelbroc aluminum 2x4 intake with Edelbrock 1406 carbs, and
Edelbrock air cleaner and valve covers. Additionally spark is
provided by a Billet aluminum one wire HEI distributor and exhaust
is routed away from the motor through Hooker headers. The selling
owner notes that the motor is believed to make 550+ horsepower, but
we have no dyno sheet or verification of these proposed horsepower
numbers. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Tremec
5-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter that is mounted into
the factory console. At the time of restoration a new clutch was
installed as was a blow proof bell housing and 3.73 posi-traction
gear in the rear.
While the motor is surely a highlight of this beautifully restored
Impala, the exterior is another sight to behold. The selling owner
noted that all new sheet metal was used with the exception of the
roof and no Bondo was used during the restoration. It features all
new chrome with California style bumpers. Also noted was the
process by which each piece was painted. One at a time each piece
received a coat of white then red paint so that the color "pops" in
the sun. This '63 Impala rides on 15-inch American Racing Turbo
Thrust II 5-spoke wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A white
letter tires. Needless to say, this is a beautiful vehicle with an
aggressive stance and is sure to be a head turner wherever it
goes.
The black leather interior was made with real leather with the
selling owner noting that it took seven hides to completely
upholster everything from the seats to the door panels. Also
featured is a new factory tachometer, new wooden steering wheel,
tinted glass, Vintage Air air conditioning system, and retro style
AM/FM/Bluetooth radio.
Additional highlights are CCP disc brakes with CCP booster and
reservoir. CCP tubular A arms, power steering box, and tie rods
were also installed. Gas is stored in a Rock Valley stainless steel
tank and Unity accessory lights were installed in a factor manner
to the exterior.
In 1963 Chevrolet updated the styling of the Impala lineup once
again. For the '63 model year Chevrolet introduced a "jet-smooth"
body that used rectilinear body lines. Additionally, a machined
alloy decklid was mounted to the rear of the car adding another
touch of class to the exterior appearance. This is a highly
desirable year of the Impala, and this fantastic example is ready
for a new home. Please call or email with any questions or for
additional information.
