Vehicle Description
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1961 Ford F100 for your
consideration. This example is powered by a smooth running 223ci I6
motor mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. The column mounted
shifter works through the gears with no hiccups.
This example sports a sweet two tone paint job of Monte Carlo
Red/Corinthian White. In areas such as the roof and bed, it is
clear that the paint has seen better days as shown in the pictures,
but overall this a good looking truck for its age. Inside the cab
is a gray cloth seat that is in good condition. Take a look at the
pictures on our website that show a clean body and underside.
Ford introduced the 4th generation F-Series in 1961, which was
sleeker and wider than its predecessor. Also introduced was the
"unibody" which derived from the fact that the cab and the box are
one continuous piece. Ford referred to them as the "integrated
pick-up" but the one-piece body was set atop a traditional
frame-style chassis, making the unibody more similar to a
body-on-frame car. Reasons for the unibody are cost, packaging, and
promotion. The unibody truck required fewer stampings, fewer welds
and a less complicated path through the assembly plant's paint
shop. Eliminating the gap between the bed and the cab allowed a
larger cargo loading area. Please call or email with any questions
