Vehicle Description
1978 Jaguar XJS XJ-S Small Block Chevy Conversion / TH-350
Transmission 107,168 miles on car / ~ 7,168 miles on engine -
mileage may go up from personal use. I truly enjoy this car and
torn on selling but have a strong desire to build-up a Mazda Miata
-OR- Nissan 350Z for fun & track use. Driving this XJ-S I
constantly get comments; often from folks loving the style and then
when they hear the engine the common question is "What do you have
in there?" It's definitely not a 'purist' Jaguar; however, the
Chevy conversion offers much improved reliability and much cheaper
parts replacement cost. Starts and runs strong; biggest issue is
power-steering leak as mentioned below. Car: Carpet in Fair/Good
Shape New Floor Mats (functional part of carpet) Aftermarket sport
seats Kenwood Blue-Tooth radio RE-Upholstered rear-seat New A/C
compressor, dryer and evaporator condenser New front ball-joints,
brake-pads front & rear, front rotors Replaced wiper motor to a new
XJS version (orig cable version was problematic) 17" Jaguar XK8
Wheels w/ Firestone Firehawk Indy500 tires - very good tread /
condition. Front shocks replaced / have 4ea new rear shocks that
have not been installed. John's Cars conversion for the small-block
engine. Previous owner (2-owners ago) had the V12 replaced with a
GM crate motor via a GM Mechanic in California - I replaced the
crate engine with a built-up small-block I had pulled from my '71
Camaro. Engine: Built by John 'Stump' Griffis - Rebel Rebuilders in
