The Ford Fairlane is an automobile model that was sold between the 1955 and 1970 model years by Ford in North America. Taking its name from the Dearborn, Michigan estate of Henry Ford, the Fairlane nameplate was used for seven different generations of vehicles. Through its production, the model line would be marketed in a wide variety of body styles, including two-door and four-door sedans, two-door and four-door hardtops, station wagons, and both traditional and retractable-hardtop convertibles. Very few of these automobile icons are still on the road. Fewer still are the number of road-worthy units in such fantastic condition as this one! This is one beautiful 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 – Two door hardtop! Was originally built in Canada. Thus, the engine color. This car has been restored to almost perfection. The body is absolutely rust free, No rust on the bottom of the doors or anywhere. The trunk is solid as is the rest of the car. The paint is very nice and will show well anywhere. The chrome is all triple plated show quality. The stainless has been polished to look great! The ‘flippers’ above the two doors flip down when closing the doors and they seal nicely. The current owner was dropped off at the previous owner’s home and drove the car at about 65 MPH to his home that was 5 hours away. So, the original 312 engine and automatic transmission are in fine shape. The rear end is quiet with no obvious noises. The brakes seem to be fine. It has power steering and power brakes. The American Racing wheels are new as are the tires. I have the original hub caps and rims that will go with the car. Also, the fender skirts and a nice car cover. The glass is nice with no cracks or bubbles.
The windshield is “AS-1” safety glass. The trunk floor is solid and has been painted as you see in the two pictures. The original radio is in the dash, and it works. Neat feature about this car is the fact that the dash and garnish moldings are painted the original color(s) black and white) with a matt type of luster that makes it very unique, and it looks great. Maybe and just maybe, built in Canada, that’s the way they painted those areas. Anyway, it is great and classy! The front door and rear panels are new and look great!
The headliner is new as is the carpet and the door sills. The seats have been reupholstered and they feel right. Nice and solid. So, with all of this being said, you could buy this car and have immediate fun with it without having to do, really, anything!
