happy to present this 1971 Oldsmobile 442 for your consideration!
This 442 has all the hallmarks of a truly excellent muscle car. An
aggressive stance, a 4-speed manual transmission, a massive V8 and
eye-catching paint are all this 442 needs to stand above the rest.
The "4-4-2" name (pronounced "Four-four-two") is meant to show the
car's basic specs: a four-barrel carburetor, a four-speed manual
transmission, and dual exhausts. By 1971, the muscle car market was
starting to take a hit as a result of increased insurance rates and
federal emissions regulations hurting the power of the cars.
However, the 442 still soldiered on, continuing to offer some of
the best performance the era had to offer. This 442 is powered by
the classic Oldsmobile 445 "High-Output" V8 paired to the 442
special, a 4-barrel carburetor. Keeping to the 442 name, this 442
is offered with a 4-speed manual transmission and Hurst shifter for
optimal performance and aggressive shifting. The exterior Blue
paint really sticks out, being presented over a solid body and
accented by a prominent rear spoiler. Despite the car's performance
orientation, the 442's interior is also very nice with comfortable
black vinyl bucket seats and woodgrain dashboard trim. Options
fitted to this mean 442 include power steering, power 4-wheel disc
brakes, factory gauges, a working clock, fuel injected system an
updated vintage-style AM/FM digital radio, a rear spoiler, and an
aggressive-sounding dual exhaust system. This 442 offers some of
the best performance the late '60s and the early '70s had to offer,
a truly iconic car that is ready to jump in and enjoy at a moment's
