Chairs & Flares Dino's, History documented by Massini, Previous
ownership by well-known Ferrari collector, Numbers Matching.
This Dino left the Maranello production line, May 2, 1974 having
been invoiced to William F. Harrah's U.S. West Coast Ferrari
distributorship Modern Classic Motors, Reno, Nevada, USA. Sold by
MCM to Harley Cluxton III's official dealership Grand Touring Cars,
Inc., Phoenix, Arizona, USA, it was sold on to its first registered
owner, Mr. J. Lombardo, Ventura, County, California, USA.
Advertised for sale, June, 1990 showing only 18,000 miles at the
time, the next ownership is unknown. May 2013, this Dino was
advertised by Mike Sheehan and described as a two-owner car example
from new. 2014, saw this Dino again being offered for sale through,
European Motor Studio LLC of Mesa, Arizona, USA, now showing 24,000
miles from new.
Subsequently sold at auction in 2015, still showing 24,000 original
miles, the Dino was purchased by a New York collector, Mr. C.
Papamichael and crossed the country to the East Coast. It has
remained in New York since. In 2017, the Dino was sold from one
collector ownership to another collector ownership here in New
York.
Since, this Dino has been serviced, maintained and stored for the
Winter months with Autosport Designs, Inc. It has seen seasonal
Hampton's use in its present ownership receiving yearly servicing
regardless of use. 2018 saw this Dino receiving a cosmetic
restoration, strip to bare metal and complete interior
refurbishment. It was also updated with 6.5" Campy wheels as fitted
to Chairs & Flares Dino's at this time. Recent servicing has
included suspension, new steering rack, brakes, air conditioning
service as well as a new clutch.
Having road tested this Dino on numerous occasions, we can attest
to its running and driving as wonderfully as it looks. Offered in
exceptional, well restored condition, this 246 GTS Dino is ready
for immediate road use and enjoyment or equally at home on the
show/concours circuit.
