Vehicle Description
Body off frame restored as a very authentic Yenko tribute. From the
correct paint scheme to an original 1969 427 motor, it will fool
the experts. It was actually part of a Yenko exhibit. They had one
of every color but couldn't get a yellow one; this car was used in
the display and nobody knew it was a clone! This one was born a
real SS 396 according to the X66 on the trim tag.
EXTERIOR: Amazing fit and finish! Straight as an arrow. No rust, no
damage, no issues. The gaps are precise. It has a cowl hood and
spoilers. The Daytona Yellow paint is polished like glass. It has
the proper Yenko stripes and emblems. I did not find a flaw. All
the chrome, stainless trim, grill, lenses look new. All new
weatherstrips and window seals. It has new vintage style 15 inch
Torque Thrust wheels and BFG tires.
INTERIOR: Upholstery, door panels, carpet, headliner are excellent.
The dash area, bezels, lenses, knobs look great. It has rare gas
gauge and a factory tachometer. The stereo looks like a factory
am-fm, it is rebuilt with modern guts and has an auxiliary plug.
Under the dash is a vintage style gauge cluster with Stewart Warner
gauges. The console looks new. Overall, it is excellent.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Genuine 1969 427 motor with "512" casting code.
It has the rectangular port heads and matched aluminum GM intake.
It even has the correct numbered Holley carb. Like most Yenkos it
has headers. On top is a complete cowl induction system. Correct
curved neck radiator, reproduction hoses, clamps, and cap. Every
component looks fresh. Reproduction Delco battery with spring clamp
cables. Features include power steering and brakes. It's detailed
like factory new.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted glossy.
The compartment is clean metal with a nice spatter finish. New
decals, weatherstrip, and mat. Collapsible spare and jack assembly.
Extras include some photo boards and literature.
UNDERSIDE: The front-end suspension and steering was completely
rebuilt, upgraded swaybar. The rear suspension was rebuilt. It has
the JL8 4 wheel disc brake feature. The brake system was rebuilt.
It has a great sounding fat dual exhaust with crossover pipe and
stainless mufflers. Fuel system was replaced. Looking up at the
motor it is fresh, starter looks new. The Turbo 400 automatic looks
fresh too. Original 12 bolt rear dated to this car now has 4.10
posi gears. Clean metal floors were prepped and painted semi-gloss
black.
This car is from a very fussy seller. His cars are always detailed
and dialed in. I know the new owner will be very satisfied.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
