GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1957 Porsche 550 Spyder
for your consideration. This example is a replica produced by GRF
Replicas out of Caieiras, Brazil. GRF was founded in 1991 and
produces multiple replica models including the 550 Spyder, Porsche
356 models, as well as Shelby Cobra replicas. In 2016 GRF was
renamed Furlan Automobile and moved to a new shop in Franco da
Rocha, Brazil. Today, Furlan Automobile works with a specialized
team that has developed a production strategy of eight models and
is focused on marketing to clients worldwide.
Offered here is a beautiful example of a Porsche 550 Spyder.
Mechanically, the car performs excellent in all areas and remains a
very spirited car that is a complete blast to drive. The steering
and suspension work together to provide a stable and confident
driving, the motor pulls very strongly in every gear and the brakes
stop straight and true. Power comes from a spirited dual carbureted
air-cooled VW 1600cc motor and is routed to the wheels through a
4-speed manual transmission. These vehicles are built on a tubular
chassis that provides a wonderfully balanced driving experience.
You will be hard-pressed to find another vehicle that provides as
fun of a driving experience as a Porsche 550 Spyder!
This gorgeous GRF produced Porsche 550 Spyder sports a stunning
Metallic Silver Blue exterior paint over a Lobster Red interior.
All exterior brightwork is in great condition as are the number
forty six decals on the exterior of the vehicle. Overall this is a
stunning vehicle that was extremely well built throughout.
The Porsche 550 Spyder is quite possibly the most recognizable
competition based car produced. Actively participating in the
European and US Championships as early as 1953 to 1965, the 550
variants recorded an astounding 95 overall victories along with 75
class wins in 370 starts. Its low, wide stance along with its
impressive power to weight, the 550 Spyder dominated against more
powerful cars above its class. Actor / Driver James Dean
affectionately described the car as "The Giant Killer". Dean died
in a fatal accident in his 550 Spyder, "Little Bastard" September
30, 1955. Today, the cars popularity far outweighs its production
and as a result, companies such as "Beck" (now Special Edition,
inc) continue to build high quality replicas to meet the continuing
demand for the legendary sports car. Please call or email with any
