Vehicle Description
You instantly notice a car like this 1937 Ford Slantback Streetrod.
It's the kind of full custom build that goes well beyond the
candy-coated flame-kissed paintwork. As you dig into the details,
it reveals a luxury A/C interior, a crate V8, four-wheel disc
brakes, and so much more.
The paint immediately grabs your attention. The red is a product of
a professional application that happened in 2012. We're told it was
given six coats of red and six coats of clearcoat on top. So when
you have more paint than a model luxury car, the deep luster
endures. We really love the way this gloss lets the sunlight show
off the classic Ford curves. Plus, the metallic glow of the red
already looks like the embers of a fire, which just seems to go
perfectly with the custom flame package painted on top. It's a
blaze that starts as yellow hot and burns to orange down the
profile and on the hood. The paint is just the beginning of the
thoughtfulness of this build. The body is classic steel that was
restored with a lot of extra care taken to make sure the panels are
straight and the doors and trunk open and shut solid. And the
fenders and running boards are updated fiberglass that hug the body
nicely for a sleeker style. Plus, you've got even more upgrades,
like the awesome hand-laid pinstriping on the trunk, frenched
taillights, and one-piece windshield. The classic brightwork is
still a standout in places such as the chrome bumpers and teardrop
headlight bezels. Not only do those American racing wheels add to
the shine, but they also have a 14/15-inch front/rear stagger for
an enhanced stance.
The exterior red returns inside to give a comprehensive look to the
dash, door tops, seat belts, steering wheel, and more. But what
really catches your eye is the tasteful tan on custom pieces, like
the door panels, headliner, and trunk. And there's a freshness to
all the essentials everywhere from the seats to the carpeting that
tell you this classic has seen the right recent solid investments.
While attractive, the largest appeal inside is how this is built to
be a truly comfortable cruiser. The front has modern high-back
bucket seats with headrests, aluminum pedals, a tilt column, cruise
control, a custom gauge cluster, and a column-mounted Sun Pro tach.
Plus, there's a cup holder center console, power windows, an
AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth stereo in an overhead console, and cold-bowing
air conditioning are all there to make this as comfortable as a
daily driver.
The engine bay is about both style and substance. The smooth red
firewall and all those polished components mean you'll proudly lift
the hood at the car shows. And at the center is a 350 crate V8.
They've invested nicely in this motor, and it has the right power
upgrades like a Spectre dual plenum air intake, an Edelbrock
four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, and Sanderson street
rod headers. There are also good supporting components like newer
plug wires, a newer distributor, and an electric fan. The motor
fires up with a nice aggressive tone out of the dual exhaust and
Flowmaster mufflers. The Heidts A-arm front end, recently rebuilt
three-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel disc brakes are
all part of the upgraded package that gives this classic Ford a
confident feeling on the road.
