2000 Mercedes Benz E320
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a range of executive cars manufactured
by German automaker Mercedes-Benz in various engine and body
configurations. Produced since 1953, the E-Class falls midrange in
the Mercedes line-up, and has been marketed worldwide across five
generations. Before 1993, the E in Mercedes-Benz nomenclature was a
suffix following a vehicle's model number which stood for
Einspritzmotor, (German for fuel injection engine). It began to
appear in the early 1960s, when that feature began to be utilized
broadly in the maker's product line, and not just in its upper tier
luxury and sporting models.
For consignment a W210 version of the E class. It sports round
headlights molded into the front, and a raked back grille with
plenty of European aero features to allow it to slip through the
air. It has a 3.2 Liter V6, and a leather interior that oozes
success!
Exterior
All very nice black original paint is showing with no rust and a
few minor chips in front of the car. This model version has the
inset round headlights and corresponding running lights which are
flanking either side of a shiny grille with the tri-pointed star
atop. Neoprene bumpers in body matching black house other dirt
intakes and turn signal lighting. A small stainless strip molding
is on its front edge. Moving rearward the front quarters are
straight, as are the 4 doors. Another trim strip, this time wider,
is just below the belt line and this takes its position from that
front bumper trimming essentially running the entire gamut of the
exterior. Glass trimmings are all in black and a short trunk deck
forms a V shape as it dives downward to the rear bumper. Rounded
off tail lighting is within this trunk lid as well as bending
around the rear quarters. Another neoprene black bumper is on back,
and all like a freshly dry cleaned tuxedo ready to go out for the
night.
Interior
Some leather and mostly molded vinyl panels in light gray form the
door panels that have an integrated pull some storage and the
speaker in front. Inside high back light gray leather buckets
showing nicely with slight wear have a center console running up to
the dash in the center. This console is light gray and has some
burl applique panels that have the window toggles, mirror joystick
and shift lever which seamlessly rises to the dash center also in
burl and houses the Mercedes-Benz branded radio, and cell phone
hookup via bluetooth. Moving upward, the climate control buttons
and vents along with a thin burl strip running across the passenger
side. Gauges are analog with a digital display for mileage, a small
clock and outside thermometer. Fronting the dash is a light gray
wheel with various finger controls for hands free functionality
while driving. In back is another bench nicely preserved also in
light gray leather, and floors have clean light gray carpeting. The
headliner is nice along with a sunroof above.
Drivetrain
Within a clean engine bay is an immaculately preserved 3.2 Liter
V6. It is rated at 221hp. It has EFI, and the original 5-speed
automatic transmission with a 3.07 geared rear axle.
Undercarriage
Very clean with stamped steel panels and some carbon fiber
surrounding the exhaust as it runs rearward. No rust, just full
independent suspension, and power disc braking all around.
Drive-Ability
A quick starter, and on the test track it was a pleasure to drive,
with the only frown being the heater blower which only works on low
speed.
Owned by the consigner since 2002, and garage kept since then, it
shows well, has very low mileage for the year, and has been well
maintained. And it looks the part. Go have fun on the Autobahn!
