Zoom Classic Cars is happy to present this true survivor, 1984
633CSi. But first, a little history on this cult favorite. The
original "E24" 6 Series was sold from 1977 to 1989. 1983 brought a
redesigned front end, and BMW made a 4-speed automatic available
for 1984. All variants of the "E24" were among BMW's most expensive
and recognizable models during the 1980s. Our research show that
5,176 units of the automatic 633CSi were sold in the United States.
This 633CSi is powered by a 3.2-liter straight-6 engine, which
produces 181 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft of torque. Ours spins the
rear wheels via the 4-speed automatic transmission. In 1982 the E24
platform was upgraded resulting in changes to exterior styling,
engines, chassis, suspension, electronics and the interior. The
struts in the new front suspension were double-linked ones, making
the car less likely to dip under hard braking. The new rear axle
was nearly identical to the trailing arm layout of the E28 528i
with a new pitman arm to control camber changes. Rust protection
was improved considerably along with the facelift. This fine
example rides on newer Style 29 15-inch wheels and is fitted with
European style headlamps. Otherwise, it is unmodified. It features
the following amenities: power-operated front seats, sunroof, air
conditioning, and the original BMW radio. It sports a jet-black
exterior complimented by a beige leather interior. The owner has
kept this classic primarily stock allowing its original character
to shine through. It has been garaged kept and was a Sunday driver.
A thorough review of the photos and video tells the story of how
lovingly this car has been maintained. We could detect no rust on
the vehicle whatsoever. The motor ran smoothly (see video) and no
excess exhaust was detected. The body panels all appear to be in
excellent condition. Tires appear to have good tread. The trunk is
clean and rust free. As always Zoom remains transparent regarding
our listings. The following flaws were noted. Seam that is
separating on the front passenger seat, a crack in the dashboard
towards the passenger side, and the plastic around the door release
on the driver's side has cracked. Presently the car is located in
NJ but will be moving to the Hamptons on Long Island, NY at the end
of September. Please contact Hank with your questions. I can be
