1959 Ford Fairlane Galaxie 500, Original and Recently REbuilt 332
5.4 Liter V8 with 225 horsepower. 8.9.1 compression pistons. Oil
tube breather and filler tube in intake manifold. Factory Cast iron
exhaust manifolds. "Cherry Bomb" mufflers gives the car a nice,
menacing rumble. Professionally rebuilt long block and heads,
purrs. New carburetor and 11 inch oversized Hydraulic
self-adjusting front and rear brakes ensures the car stops well.
3.56.1 rear differential gears with 325 ft lb torque. Correct blue
engine paint color. Rebuilt transmission 2 Speed Automatic
Transmission. New Drive Shaft and U-Joints. New gas tank. Original
Raven Black Code A survivor quality paint has a few rough spots,
but who doesn't @ 64 years old. Galaxie 500 with top of the line
Fairlane Trim Option. The body is actually in very good shape for
original sheet metal. Doors, hood and trunk deck lid open and close
nicely. A favorite body feature is the big chrome ribbed accent
piece at the base of the back roof pillar. Triple thick wheel well
moldings that flow towards the back on the side of the car are
unique to Fairlanes, Galaxies and T birds. Of course the oversized
horizontal fins, extra large rocket point tail light lenses make
this car stand out from the other big 2. Beautiful headlight insert
trim with even more chrome plus the elongated "starred" grill and
recessed front and rear bumpers only add to her elegant shape and
form. Very sharp interior features diamond pleat inserts on the
seats and door panels in 2 tone Black and Tan. Front bench seat
with rear bucket style seats gives the car a diplomatic feel.
Correct steel wheels and hubcaps. Thin white line wall tires and
original style spare. This car runs, drives and steers amazingly
well. A true pleasure to drive with tons of looks and thumbs up!
