Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1974 BMW 3.0CS E9 Coupe.
This 3.0CS has been with the same Georgia collector since 2006. It
was purchased out of Florida as a nice, solid example and taken to
the next level with a cosmetic and mechanical restoration under
current ownership which entailed a number of upgrades. It was built
for comfortable, long-distance driving and has been regularly used
in touring events.
The body was stripped down and repainted in Polaris Silver. All of
the anodized trim was professionally chromed and the bumpers were
backdated to the smaller early style. The original numbers-matching
M30 engine was rebuilt to 3.5 liters and is fed through twin
two-barrel Weber carburetors; it's mated to an automatic
transmission. The ignition system was upgraded to MSD. The air
conditioning system was overhauled and a modern compressor was
installed - it blows ice cold. The suspension was refreshed and it
has been lowered slightly. Gorgeous 17-inch Style Five wheels are
wearing Bridgestone tires.
Inside the seats were replaced with E24 6-series sport seats, a
Nardi wood wheel was installed, the dash was recovered and the
headliner was replaced. A Nakamichi stereo is installed and sounds
really good. Tool kit and owners manual are included. This E9 is
ready to be enjoyed and certainly turns heads with a great look and
tasteful upgrades.
