Vehicle Description
1973 Chevrolet Monte Carlo S Coupe 454
Car History
When is the last time you saw a 1973 Chevrolet Monte Carlo built at
the factory with a LS4 454 cubic inch engine backed by a M40
3-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, Positraction, air
conditioning, with a light neutral interior, and a Light copper
metallic paint job?
Well, we have a restored one for sale here at Adventure Classics
and ours is an original numbers matching LS-4 454 Big Block with a
copy of window label. Only 4% of Monte Carlo's were Big Blocks
built in 1973.
Engine & Drivetrain
The powertrain we have in our Monte Carlo is a LS4 454 cubic inch
engine backed by a M40 3-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic
transmission and Positraction rearend.
It looks as new with big block heads, and intake painted in
Chevrolet racing orange, four-barrel carburetor, chrome valve
covers, chrome open element air cleaner, power steering, power disc
brakes, factory air conditioning, and it sits in a very well
detailed engine compartment with what appears to be most if not all
the original parts from the air cleaner assembly down to the oil
pan!
Our Monte has front disc brakes that were standard equipment rides
on chrome Cragar SS style mag wheels with raised white letter Road
Max tires.
Interior
The interior of our beauty matches the exterior with its light
neutral colored interior featuring the full-size bench seat,
matching rear seat and door panels, and options and standard
equipment parts like the custom deluxe seat belts, soft ray tinted
glass, air conditioning, dash with all the gauges and special
instrumentation as well as aftermarket gauges below the dash, AM/FM
stereo radio, wood grain trim, carpeting and floor mats.
The trunk carries a full-size spare tire, black mat, and jack.
Exterior
Our beautiful monte Carlo is finished in a Light copper metallic
paint job that looks awesome with great bodywork that has a great
shine with chrome, great trim, chrome front and rear bumpers, the
vinyl roof that accents the paint.
And don't forget the sounds coming from the dual exhausts and those
454 badges on each side that tells you subtly that this is one
luxury cruiser you might not want to mess with.
Conclusion
The 1973 Chevrolet Monte Carlo S 454 we have here at Adventure
Classics has the great look of that era that neatly blends
performance and luxury in a muscular package, just as Chevrolet
advertised back in that year.
This is such a great example of a 1973 Monte Carlo big block that
would be very hard to duplicate anywhere in the country and will
serve you well in your collection.
