From 2004 to 2009, the superb F430 proudly carried the flag for
Ferrari's mid-engine V8 range. Developed directly from the 360
Modena, the F430 shared the same Alcoa-developed aluminum monocoque
chassis but was substantially restyled with new front and rear
clips penned by Pininfarina and Frank Stephenson. Keen-eyed
enthusiasts would notice that only the roof, doors, and glass
carried over. Along with a fresh new look, the F430 body gained
significantly improved aerodynamics as Ferrari applied lessons
learned in F1 to its road cars. Ferrari also applied F1 tech to the
new 4.3-liter V8 nestled behind the seats. This all-new aluminum
alloy, naturally-aspirated unit featured F1-derived heads and
intake runners for maximum efficiency and produced 483 horsepower
at a screaming 8,500 rpm. Best of all, new chain-driven cams
eliminated the need for costly regular cambelt changes. Powerful
Brembo brakes, a quick-shifting paddle-shift gearbox, and E-Diff
active limited-slip differential made the F430 a razor-sharp
'junior' supercar and a must-have for virtually any Ferrari
