When General Motors introduced the LaSalle in 1927, there were immediate comparisons to the look of its big brother Cadillac. LaSalle was developed within the Cadillac division and quickly became the second most prestigious car in the GM portfolio before it was discontinued in 1940.
Black Horse Garage proudly represents this classic from yesteryear, the 1939 LaSalle Series 50.
This stunning Oxblood Maroon LaSalle has been beautifully restored and maintained with documentation spanning its 83-year life. Other sleek features include the hood ornament that doubles as a hood release, a narrow grille, and running boards. It comes with matching painted wheels and large white-walled tires.
The front and rear seats are upholstered in ribbed tan fabric, as are the door panels and headliner. The painted dashboard houses a speedometer and gauges for engine temperature, amperage, fuel level, and oil pressure. It is also equipped with a Cadillac heater, defroster, AM radio, cigarette lighter, and ashtray.
A 3-on-the-tree manual transmission drives the LaSalle to the rear wheels. It is powered by a Cadillac-based 322 cubic-inch L-head V-8 engine that was factory rated at 125 horsepower.
