Vehicle Description
1965 PONTIAC GTO "RESTO-MOD"
We recently acquired this car from a retired older gentleman who
bought it sometime ago to restore and to build into his dream car.
Unfortunately had a stroke and was unable to complete his dream
build. As a retired engineer by trade, you can only image the
planning, the time and the large amount of money that was already
invested into his build. We have a large folder full of receipts
and research to back this all up. CHECK IT OUT!
When we got the car,it had been sitting for some time and did not
run. The engine, trans, rear, steering, suspension, brake and fuel
systems were already installed as well as an all-new interior
including rebuilt dash and gauge cluster. It was all in place, but
all had to be plumbed and wired and it was missing a few key
components to make it run and drive. The body and paint werenot
touched and in reality, if you want perfection it needs to be
redone but as it is now, she looks pretty damn good! The body is
solid and clean with no real rust issues including the floors,
trunk and frame. The paint is driver quality at best, itshines well
but it has a few chips and scratches all over, and some old
bodywork is beginning to show but that's black paint for you, it
shows all flaws and imperfections.
As mentioned, the black bucket seat interior is all new and looks
really good especially the dash and gauge cluster, it is all VERY
NICE!! The engine was built by Sons Of Thunder Motorworks and is an
aluminum head 463 c.i. Big Block Chevy that is full roller topped
off with an Edelbrock Performer Endura Shine 2x4 carb set-up.
Everything is new and was never fired until we started it up. It
sounds awesome and runs super strong! It is backed up by a new
Legend 5 speed transmission and hydraulic clutch assembly and a 12
bolt posi-traction rear with 4:10 gears. Other features include,
new power steering, new CPP 4-wheel power disc brakes, new Global
West tubular upper & lower control arms front & rear, adjustable
coil over shocks, 17" Foose wheels, big Griffith aluminum radiator,
ceramic coated headers with new custom dual exhaust, serpentine
pulley system and lots, lots more! Any way you look at it this is a
really cool car. You can go out and have fun with it right now
as-is or with a little more time and effort invested it can be
worth a whole lot
