This is a genuine Bel Air Hardtop V-8, built in Los Angeles. Clean
rust free car that was body off frame restored. Upgraded with a/c,
power steering and power disc brakes.
EXTERIOR: It's straight and fits right, doors shut like new. No
rust or damage. The hood ornament and emblem were removed for a
clean look. Older paint job that shows really well. It has a smooth
glossy finish along with minor flaws. Clean door jambs.
Weatherstrips were replaced. Stainless trim is straight and
polished, the chrome sparkles. Windshield was replaced. It rolls on
15x8 Corvette rally wheels with BFG tires.
INTERIOR: I bought this from someone that does custom interiors for
a living. So needless to say the upholstery is fantastic. Genuine
leather and suede that's soft as a babies butt on the door panels,
seats and headliner. The upper metal door trim is wrapped in
leather. Repainted metal dash, it has digital gauges. Air
conditioning vents are neatly installed under the dash, the a/c
controls look like the original. The tilt column has a cushion grip
wheel. Down on the floor is the premium tight loop carpet with
contrasting bound edges and matching mats. It has billet pedals.
Custom console has cup holders and a modern stereo. Speakers are
built into the kick panels and 6x9s in back. Seat belts front and
back.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: 350 motor with aluminum heads and intake,
Edelbrock carb with electric choke and Mallory ignition. It has a
hot cam and a remote vacuum reservoir. Dressed up with matched
Edelbrock valve covers and air cleaner. An aluminum radiator and
water pump keep it running cool. Modern heat and air conditioning
system. Upgraded power steering and brake system. The engine bay is
clean metal, firewall was made smooth. It was all painted body
color.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Solid trunk painted same color as the car.
Custom cut carpet mat with bound edges and a matching tire cover.
It has an insulation pad under the mat. Battery is relocated to the
trunk. It has jack and spare assembly.
UNDERSIDE: It was body off the frame restored. The underbody has
absolutely clean dry metal floors, braces and rockers all painted
the color of the car. The frame was painted a darker shade of
turquoise. The body bushings were replaced. The front end steering
and suspension was completely rebuilt. It has an upgraded swaybar
and KYB gas shocks all around. Disc brakes in front, e-brake
assembly is hooked up. It has a dual exhaust system with Xlerator
mufflers. The fuel system was replaced. Looking up at the motor
it's clean, the starter looks new and has a chrome flywheel cover.
Turbo 350 automatic has a chrome pan. The drive shaft was rebuilt,
it connects to a 10 bolt rear end with a chrome cover.
I think I underpriced this one! A frame off California Bel Air with
the features this one has should be much more money. It's great
exactly as it is or there is potential to make it your own with a
little pin stripe, wheels etc.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
