This is a special treat for anyone that sees a car like this
cruising down the road. It's an even bigger treat if you're the
driver! Restored very nicely throughout.
EXTERIOR: Very desirable dual side mount convertible. All metal
body and fenders. No rust or damage. It's straight and fits right.
Beautiful metallic maroon, it has sharp highlights when the light
hits it. It's laid out evenly and polished glossy. Overall, the
chrome and trim is shiny and straight. It has the optional metal
covers over the sidemount tires. The convertible top was replaced
with correct Haartz cloth. The wheels are restored and wrapped with
big ole whitewalls.
INTERIOR: Overall very nice. The seats, door panels, armrests,
visors, and kick panels were reupholstered. Carpet was replaced.
Dash area looks great, the gauges look like new. Beautiful steering
wheel, it has optional turn signals too. Looking up at the inside
of the top its excellent, top frame was restored.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Dynaflash straight 8 motor runs smooth as silk.
It is restored and detailed very well. Reproduction cloth wrapped
wires, decals, and hose clamps. It has a bit of extra chrome. The
components are clean. Battery is properly mounted, it has both
horns, correct air cleaner. Optional oil filter. The original body
tag is still attached
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is very neatly with black carpet.
Weatherstrip is soft.
UNDERSIDE: Underneath the car looks very clean. It gives me the
impression it has been restored. The front end components are not
greasy, nuts and bolts are clean, miscellaneous parts look fresh.
It has the correct exhaust system. The e-brake is still hooked up.
The fuel tank has been replaced. The underside metal looks very
clean, it has been prepped and painted semi glass black.
I'm around vintage cars all the time and even I still love it when
we get something like this. It really takes you back to an era most
people aren't familiar with. If you want to be as special as this
Buick Special, here is your chance. This one is a great
example.
