To compete with the Chevrolet Impala, Ford introduced the Galaxie
in 1959. It was named to appeal to the recent excitement
surrounding the Space Race as Cold War rivals competed to create
the superior form of space exploration. The Galaxy 500 received a
complete redesign in 1965 as they transitioned to a more tall bulky
look with now vertical double headlights instead of horizontal.
They also received a redesigned suspension, new instrument panel
and more. One of the more unique creations for this group of full
size cars was the introduction of multiple keys for use with a
valet service. They now had 1 key for the doors/ignition and a 2nd
for the trunk/glovebox. This nice 1967 Galaxie is a neat car that
has been transformed into a Police Cruiser. This year incorporated
additional safety features and also introduced a bend into the
grill to try to get a less boxy look. The exterior is done in a two
tone Black and White with Police lettering. It is a wrap so if
someone wanted to take it back to more stock they could easily do
so. On the roof is a set of sirens and Red/Blue lights which all
function properly. All of the original style trim and bumpers are
nicely mounted in place and in good condition. It has brand new
American Racing Torq Thrust wheels with new Falken Pro G4 tires
that look great on the car.
Turning those tires is a 390 V8 motor that has plenty of power. It
is fitted with an Edelbrock manifold, Edelbrock valve covers, and
triangle Edelbrock air cleaner. The larger Cruise-O-Matic MX
transmission shifts smoothly with no issues. It is a factory power
steering and AC car both of which are working properly.

below the dash for more accurate Oil, Amp, and Temp gauges. It has
a column shifter and the original wheel was replaced with an
aftermarket Grant 3 spoke steering wheel. These car have large
trunks so you will have plenty of space for all your car show
gear.

look gets a ton of attention wherever it goes. It is always a hit
at car shows and people frequently request to pose for photos with
