Vehicle Description
1966 Volkswagen Transporter Converted by Carrozzeria Grazia of
Italy in 1966 this is a one of a kind Salesflap. With the birth
certificate to prove it. This is an American LHD (Left hand drive)
European LHCD (Left hand cargo door), and super rare. This is an
amazing example of the Carrozzeria Grazia converted bus and as far
as I have found it is one of one with the sales flap going up into
the roof. This comes with the original Italian commercial turn
signals, the commercial vehicle red stripe, the commercial vehicle
license holder, custom coach built mirrors and the coach built
Carrozzeria Badges. Everything on this car is in working order and
I have never had an issue with any electrical and I just had my
mechanic do a once over to look at everything for a completed sale.

Interior 83 / Mesh Gray, Fabric There are no others like it. Notice
how the flap door is actually part of the roof. You won't see that
with 'normal' run of the mill Westy SO-1 conversions. This is a one
of one bus. Vintage Warehouse bought this salesflap back in 2004 or
so and had been using it as a daily driver / parts hauler / swap
meet vehicle for 10 years. It's gone through many changes and
upgrades in that time. I have changed the motor, trans and front
beam to take the bus back to original running stance and get back
the Original Look and stance. This is now a bullet proof driver.
Lets start with the body. It's ORIGINAL paint. What you see is what
you get but after I acquired the bus we did a Long panel repair on
the Right Hand side, lower rocker repair, door bottom repair inside
but not on the outside (still has original door skins) and lower
cargo door repair. The rust was not that bad but caused the body do
flex so it needed to be done to preserve the vehicle. When I
purchased this bus in late 2019 I made the decision to not touch
any of the original paint except these areas. I found Italian coins
that were in the door panels when we took it all apart. The only
'work' is around the flap from when the conversion was done back in
1966. Recent paint only on those areas and minimal blending, no
hidden bondo. 100% German except for the few Klassic Fab pieces
that needed replacing!! When purchased in 2004, Vintage warehouse
said that they found the rear apron and rear hatch were not
original paint. After years of searching he was able to find
replacements that were. Not an easy task!! It does have it's flaws
if you don't love a few scratches and usual marks from being a bus
with this history. This is a rare Italian Sales flap bus
conversion, American LHD, European Left hand cargo area, and a
coachbuilt sales flap that has an uncut dash, original speedo
(77581 KM) the seats and panels have been replaced and the rear
cargo area is empty but you can tell that it was used to transport
boxes for some sort of laundry or dry cleaning business. Interior
wise it has been changed a bit, but nothing that jumps out at you.
Seats are covered in 'salt and pepper' mesh grey and grey vinyl, as
are the door panels and kick panels. The original cab divider and
headliner panels (not installed) are the factory grey color. The
rear cargo area is in original worn grey paint. Nothing fancy
there, but original. The areas that I had repaired are in primer
gray to protect them but have not been color matched to the cargo
interior color yet. All windows have the original rubber and even
though it shows its age it is amazing that it it is almost all
original and I even have the old door gasket that came out during
the rust repair if you wanted to install it back in. The salesflap
had no supports when purchased in 2004. For years we used loose
rods (as seen i
