This 1972 Oldsmobile 442 tribute nails true muscle car appeal in
all the best ways. A cool/coordinated color combo, cold-blowing
A/C, and a big V8 make for the kind of muscle car we all dream
about, but few get to hold.
It's hard not to get instant attention in a coupe done in such a
bright yellow. But it takes more than just the right hue to look
like this. The finish has a nice depth and shine to let it radiate
in the sunshine and moonlight. It's impressive, but it's about
being a driver rather than a show car. After all, this is what the
442 style is all about. And this one gets the muscle car look right
with a black stripe package that includes the hood, trunk, and
running the entire length of the sides. Plus, there's a terrific
stance with the upgraded racing alloys with the extra wide set of
Firestone Firehawk tires.
The black accents of the exterior get you ready for the all-black
interior. It's quite clean, dark, and inviting. This has a nice
vintage style everywhere, from the working dome light to the
button-top upholstery. But you'll like how this one is built to be
a driver. Front bucket seats, an armrest center console, a floor
shifter, full gauges with tach, and an auxiliary readout trio make
the driver's seat a command position. Features like the upgraded
stereo and cold-blowing air conditioning are great for rolling down
all the windows and going for a drive in this hardtop.
Under the hood, the desirable 455 cubic-inch V8. While it takes
items like a build sheet to prove a true 442, the fact that the VIN
tells us this was a big motor car with an era-correct block makes
this one quite attractive. The four-barrel carburetor, Champion
aluminum radiator, X-pipe dual exhaust, and Flowmaster mufflers
keep this Olds running strong and growling with power. Lowering
springs in the front, boxed trailing arms in the rear, a rear sway
bar, and those extra meaty rear tires give it the right muscle car
stance and feel. And when it's time just for cruising, the strip,
power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a stout TH400
three-speed automatic transmission make for an all-around solid
driver.
When you have a bold color package, an A/C interior, and plenty of
V8 muscle, you know you have an irresistible Olds. Don't miss this
deal. Call now!
