GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1971 GMC Sierra 1500
short bed for your consideration. This Sierra was rebuilt by a
father (engineer) and son (designer) duo who both work
professionally for the Big Three. The 350ci V8 engine was
completely rebuilt by a Detroit local professional engine shop less
than 1500 miles ago with performance in mind. It sports built
aftermarket heads, Thumper cam, Edelbrock carb, and is dressed in
low key brushed aluminum valve covers and air cleaner. The owner
really wanted a truck he could shift so a freshly rebuilt Muncie 4
speed manual transmission with a hurst shifter kit was installed.
Putting the power to the rear wheels is a 12 bolt rear-end with 373
gears.
The thumper cam mixed with the whine of the muncie gears paired
with the side exhaust is music to any automotive enthusiast's ears.
The owner's goal was to build a hot rod street truck with the soul
of a late 60's stock car. Hence the big American Racer asphalt
racing tires and custom Stockton steel wheels. The Truck has also
been properly lowered with drop spindles and springs and is
equipped with a sway bar so you can have fun around a corner. When
it comes to stopping power, power brakes were added with new disc
brakes up front along with rebuilt drums in the rear. The
sheetmetal is original and unmolested. There is no body rust
anywhere and the excellent original red/ orange exterior paint was
sprayed in the late 70's. This GMC is originally from Arkansas and
has always been stored inside. The current owner likes the look of
the Chevrolet C10 better so the tailgate and grill have been
replaced with the Chevrolet parts. This truck is ready to drive
anywhere and is sure to put a smile on your face.
