Vehicle Description
This 1959 Ford Thunderbird gives you a premium cruiser look, a
distinct leather interior, proper V8 power, and an overall
well-kept style. It makes for an exceptional classic, especially at
this affordable price.
The 1959 Thunderbird was the crossroads of many different styles,
and this one blends them all perfectly. You see the jet age in the
profile with the rocket-inspired sheet metal and tailfins. Those
bright beautiful bumpers, and how well they integrate into the
design, remind us that style was king before government regulations
stepped in. Plus, the Detroit maxim of lower-wider-longer is
exactly what created these boulevard-cruising second-generation
T-birds. As Ford's personal luxury machine, this is a very
sophisticated package. The factory-correct Colonial White has a
nice gloss, there's a proper hardtop profile, and the dip in the
trunk line is the kind of daring piece they wouldn't try on new
cars today. And everything from the fender skirts to the whitewall
tires adds to the elegance.
The sophisticated attitude continues inside. The tan leather
upholstery is highly original and quite a distinctive piece we
rarely see from the 1950s. And details like plenty of individual
space and newer carpeting make for a solid cruiser. There are
details you may update for a Sunday driver, like restoring the air
conditioning or adding a modern stereo, but this is already a
terrific personal luxury cruiser. After all, the driver's seat
power adjusts to the ideal position, and you can show off the full
pillarless hardtop profile without ever changing seats thanks to
the full power window package.
We really love this coupe because it has a true classic style
that's impressive inside and out, and at the same time, you'll
drive it without getting nervous about a stone in the road or a
cloud in the sky. Part of this easy-going nature is also because of
the motor. The 352 cubic-inch V8 looks great in the engine bay with
its correct white air grabber and bold blue valve covers. The
presentation is quite vintage, but there are also nice upgrades.
This includes a newer alternator, a newer battery, and an Edelbrock
AVS 2 four-barrel carburetor with an electric choke. So the way
this fires up and runs gives the right feeling of good care over
the years. It loves to hit the road with a true vintage feeling,
but features like the three-speed automatic transmission, power
steering, and a modern tread behind the whitewall tires make
cruising nice.
This coupe has a unique style where there's even a stretch from
1977 to 2008 with exceptional maintenance records that lead us to
believe the odometer could represent the actual mileage. So you're
looking at a T-bird of total distinction. Call today!!!
