Vehicle Description
This 1928 Ford Model A 5-window coupe was inspired by the V8 hot
rods in the heyday of street machines, but now you'll also see it's
filled with plenty of modern conveniences. So no matter if you love
the rumbling V8 power or comfy velour on the rumble seat, this is a
timeless style in an exceptionally attractive package.
If you build a rod, you need to make it attention-grabbing. The
bright red paint radiates confidence from the cool coupe's body.
This is genuine Henry Ford steel, and this hot rod respects that
history with original styling cues such as the windshield visor,
unique cowl, and of course, the iconic rumble seat. But this is far
from a stock vehicle. Features like the contoured fiberglass front
fenders (only body panel, not steel), bright chromed front end with
King Bee-style headlights, and aggressively staggered alloy wheels
all respect the hot rod era that made these Model As icons all over
again.
The full custom interior offers plenty of comfort while still
remembering its lineage. It starts with the cool red and gray
bucket seats. Not only does this pattern match the door panels and
headliner, but the full rumble seat compartment is decked out this
way for a full uniform appearance everyone loves at car shows and
cruise nights. There's plenty of comfort for everyone with power
windows, a modern AM/FM/CD stereo mounted on the ceiling, and
provisions for R134a air conditioning (it will need servicing to
blow cold again.) But this is a true driver's hot rod, so the best
features are reserved for you. This includes the sports steering
wheel, tilt column, and Lokar shifter. The original-style gauge
panel is upgraded to a billet housing and a complete set of VDO
readouts.
One look at the 350 cubic-inch V8 in the engine bay and you know it
was built to produce some serious power. It has an Edelbrock
performance suite with a four-barrel carburetor, aluminum intake,
and ribbed valve covers. The Hooker headers add even more power as
they contribute to the sweet rumble made by the glasspack-style
dual pipes. While looking at the exhaust in the undercarriage
photos, don't forget to check out the chrome front end by Super
Bell and the four-link rear with coilovers. All of this makes for a
solid street machine. And the TH400 three-speed automatic and front
disc brakes make this a good all-around cruiser, too.
The overall impression of this one is a cool street machine with
power, comfort, and history. You may decide to upgrade some of the
details for a better shine or additional updated features, but
overall, it's an impressive way to have a genuine hot rod rumble
seat coupe. Call now!
