Vehicle Description
Iconic, collectible, and impressively low mileage - this 2000
Plymouth Prowler is a well-preserved and nicely-presented example
of one of the most distinctive new-era classics to hit the
road.
Red is often a popular color on a sports car, but the prowler
always does things a bit differently, and so the full Prowler Red
treatment was one of the least popular applications with only 193
believed to be made in 2000. Today that means this shining factory
application also delivers rarity to go with your boldness.
Averaging only about 1,200 miles annually so far, we bet this one
only came out of the garage for weekend pleasure drives. Plus, the
body panels have been treated with care, so the light rolls evenly
across all the curves - and this car has a ton of them! The slick
pointed front end, slingshot profile, and fully-rounded rear all
come together to create one of the coolest machines ever to come
with a factory warranty. Plus, this one has the right custom
touches. The gray front federal bumpers were removed and replaced
with polished sleek covers. It redefines the front end to give you
a clear view of the cycle fenders and that proper hot rod style.
Plus, the factory alloys not only have an aggressive stagger, but
these are also done in black to coordinate with the hot rod-style
low folding roof. It makes for a well-preserved and well-respected
modern classic with just the right amount of added distinction.
Inside is where this retro ride gets very modern. It's outfitted
with exceptionally comfortable dark charcoal gray buckets with the
special Prowler logo embossed on the backs. And with such low
mileage, you know the leather still looks and feels supple. It's
built to be a driver's car with a grippy sports steering wheel, a
tilt column, and the color-matched instrument panel dominating the
top of the dash with great white-faced gauges in place. We
especially love how the column-mounted AutoMeter tach is a
factory-installed item that's a nod to the classic hot rod style.
And because Plymouth wanted to create the ultimate retro-cool
cruiser, they made sure to fill it with the best features, too. You
have a powerful AM/FM/cassette factory stereo, power windows, power
locks, keyless entry/alarm, cruise control, and dual airbags. Plus,
cold-blowing factory air conditioning means it's easy to stay cool
when open to the world. And the folding soft top has the right feel
of a well-engineered insulated unit to make the Prowler feel good
even when buttoned up.
The engine bay shows the real engineering it takes to get a
retro-cool car that knows how to really perform. The motor is set
further back from the front chassis and made of lightweight
aluminum. So it weighs less and sits lower. It means the 3.5-liter
24-valve V6's 253 horsepower moves this roadster quite confidently.
It starts instantly and idles smoothly thanks to a modern fuel
injection setup that's as easy as a commuter. The four-speed
automatic transmission w/overdrive and power steering make this a
fine anytime cruiser. When you want a little more fun, the
AutoStick has a manual mode that will open up the backroads. This
lets you take full advantage of the fully independent suspension,
four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, and the Prowler's near 50/50
weight distribution.
Complete with the owner's manual, this is everything you wanted in
Prowler when new, and today this modern classic is still basically
that fresh. So don't miss out, call today!
