Vehicle Description
1969 MG B Roadster Mk II - Same Owner For 50 Years - 1.8L 4
Cylinder - 4 Speed Manual Transmission - Green Over Black Interior
- 94k Miles Shown - Recent Maintenance Garage Kept Motors is
pleased to offer this 1969 MG B Roadster. This is a solid vintage
sports car, priced reasonably that is ready to hit the road in
search of great driving adventures. MGB's have a reputation for
outstanding handling and spirited acceleration, making these
roadsters a favorite for entry level weekend racers. This car has
been under the same ownership for 50 years. The odometer currently
shows 94,000, and recent maintenance to a few important areas means
that this car is ready to log some more miles with a new owner.
This MGB has a solid body and looks sharp with green paint and
black interior. The finish has a number of scratches and blemishes
typical of an older paint job, however as the photos indicate, the
finish presents with a nice luster. The bumpers have some small
dents and light patina but still shine brightly. The black
convertible top and frame are included but have not been installed
in some time, as this car has been a fair-weather cruiser only
being driven on nice, clear days. Inside, the black trimmed
interior appears to be in mostly original condition. The
traditional black leather seats are gently worn in with subtle
wrinkles, yet are soft and comfortable with no rips or tears. Door
panels and rear panels look to be original, and show light wear,
and mild sun damage. As to be expected in a convertible, the carpet
is showing typical sun fade and wear. The dash pad and dash vinyl
are clean and free of any cracks or tears. The original-style MG
floor mats are still present, and a roll bar has been installed in
preparation for a potential track day. A Nardi wood rim steering
wheel has been installed. (Note: the original plastic rim steering
wheel is included in the sale.) The dash is factory equipped with a
full set of Smiths gauges including tachometer, oil pressure,
temperature, voltmeter to monitor the engine vitals. The British
Motor Company AM radio is still present in the dash. The trunk
compartment is clean with some light surface oxidation, and the
factory tool kit is included along with a spare tire mounted on a
correct wire wheel. Under the bonnet is unrestored, yet it is clear
that this area of the car has been well cared for. The 1.8 litre
four cylinder is factory rated at 92hp at 5400rpms and 110 ft. lbs.
of torque at 3000 rpm. The factory cast iron exhaust manifold has
been upgraded to a long tube header which features larger pipes
going into a performance muffler. The power is transferred through
a 4-speed manual transmission to the straight axle mounted rear
differential. The undercarriage is unrestored, and the floorboards
are solid with some light oxidation. The factory knock off
true-wire wheels are wrapped in Kumho Power Star 758 radial tires.
These tires are designed specifically for classic imports like the
MGB to provide classic looks, but modern performance. This MG is a
great little driver, and its gently worn edges give this spirited
little British sports car some attractive character. These MGB's
have a long-standing history as fun to drive cars and this car
wants to hit the curvy back roads and run through the gears. Please
