Vehicle Description
Here's a shining example of the single cab pickup we all wanted at
one time, and that's exactly why you stopped to look at this 1986
Toyota Pickup SR5 4x4. And as you start to discover how this one
has everything you want, right down to an A/C interior, you know
it's time to get excited.
Not only does this truck have a robust reputation, but also its
looks are quite intimidating, too. The hood has a hint of a power
bulge, the fenders are flared wide, and the stance is tall. You get
to see all of this so well because the body looks quite nice, and
the factory red has been updated so you get a terrific clearcoat
shine. In fact, there's a nice history of care about keeping it
looking good. It's believed to have spent 35 under the ownership of
its first family, and during that time, they are believed to have
given it a comprehensive frame-off respray. Plus, in the few years
that it has been outside of the original family, the tradition of
proper care has continued. You see it in the recent respray of the
hood that took out any stone chips and marks that happen in life.
Polished Toyota wheels, a bright chrome front end, upgraded LED
headlights, nice body lines, and good rubber all the way around
really drive home the look of a detailed and respected pickup. And
the investments really never stray from that vintage cool factory
appearance, right down to the full strobe stripe package that's on
the sides and tailgate. And this one deserves to be seen as a truck
classic considering it's nearly impossible to find Toyotas of this
age with under 100k miles on them.
The interior is an inviting atmosphere that looks highly original
with the right updates added for comfort and functionality. So the
upholstery looks vintage, the door panels look terrific, the front
carpeting is newer, and the dash looks so stock that even the 4x4
instructions are still affixed. And if you don't like the grip of
the updated sports steering wheel, the stock nit also comes with
the sale. This is a premium SR5 model, and you get that feeling on
the inside. There are nice features you don't get elsewhere, like
front bucket seats, a tilt steering column, and full
instrumentation with a handy tach. We especially like how the AM/FM
radio looks like a classic piece, but it's really a modern
Bluetooth stereo. You'll also notice that the windows have a nice
tint and the air conditioning is blowing cold with modern R134a
refrigerant. Of course, for the best pickup cooling, the sliding
rear window provides the kind of old-school truck breezes we all
love.
Under the hood is Toyota's famously hardy 2.4-liter 22R motor. The
low mileage is interesting on this truck, and the reason why such a
low odometer seems rare is because these trucks have a durable
reputation where plenty are still happily in daily use today. And
everything from factory fuel injection to a recent tune-up with new
plugs makes sure this keeps its reliable status. The way this one
fires up reaffirms the everlasting nature of a well-maintained
Toyota truck, and the five-speed manual transmission gives you full
control. Plus, this has a lot of fun left in this classic, too,
with a two-speed 4x4 transfer case and a tall stance. And the power
steering and power brakes w/discs up front make it easy to run
around town or the trail.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, a maintenance
file, and spare components. This is the iconic Toyota pickup made
even better by an impressive history of care and respect. Call
