Vehicle Description
"Best in the world!" "Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!" We hear it
and read it all the time in the classic car world, and sadly, it's
usually just another catchy advertising ploy. But not this time.
This is the "Creme de La Creme" of Chevy square-body trucks-and
from the final production year! The Silverado was not yet its own
model in '87, but rather the apex of trim levels available on the
C-body trucks. This shortbed truck was purchased new at Zentz
Chevy-Buick in Gettysburg, PA. by a Mr. Gerald E. Miller on August
19th, 1987. Several years later, Mr. Miller contacted his local
dealership to sell his coveted Silverado, which had never seen a
raindrop, and had traveled less than 200 miles since new! The story
goes that when the dealer representative came to retrieve the
vehicle from Mr. Miller's garage, it was raining, and Mr. Miller
informed the gentleman that he would not be taking the truck with
him that day. Once the weather cleared up, the dealership retrieved
the vehicle, and since that time, it has resided in a private
dealers collection here on the East Coast of the Carolinas. This
Silverado pickup is an RPO-M-G! It features the 5.7 L V8
fuel-injected engine and a 4-speed automatic transmission with
Overdrive. It has power steering, power brakes, power windows,
power door locks, air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, cruise
control, and AM/FM stereo radio. It also features the chrome rear
bumper, chrome front bumper guards, Glide-out spare tire carrier,
instrument gauge package, color-keyed floor mats, cargo light, dome
light, cigarette lighter, stainless-steel side mirrors,
aluminum/faux-wood bed rails, and all the brightwork molding
add-ons (including the wheel openings, front marker lights, tail
lights, door-edge guards, window trim, and body side molding). The
truck is still fit with its original Firestone Destination LE2
white-letter tires and the factory polished aluminum wheels. There
are a myriad of factory markings still applied to the undercarriage
as well as in the engine compartment. Additionally, on the interior
you will find the original plastic cover over the bench seat as
well as the factory protective clear plastic door panel coverings.
This truck is truly still "In the wrapper" from 1987! As close to
perfect that you could ever hope to find! The original dealer
invoice, owner's manual, and accompanying paperwork are included
with the sale.
