This highly-original, documented, award-winning 1955 Mercury
Monterey 2-door hardtop is absolutely phenomenal. It won multiple
AACA awards between 1980 and 1982 (1st Junior, Senior, Grand
National, 1st Preservation) in the "27A" original car class. The
car has had three titled owners and has only 14,386 actual miles..
It has the original 292ci/188hp V8 engines with a 3-speed standard
transmission. The original "572" Cordovan weave/White nylon
interior is in excellent condition for its age and the
factory-correct "94" Alaska White/Persimmon shows beautifully as
well. This '55 Merc was purchased new at Lawrence Bros. Motor Co.
in Chattanooga, TN. It was ordered on 2-4-55 and picked up on
8-4-55 by Mr. Olen C. Blevins; all of this being confirmed by
several original documents. This vehicle is equipped with an AM
radio, rearview mirror, dual side mirrors, dash clock, cigarette
lighter, heater/defroster, horn and whitewall tires. Modern seat
belts were added to the vehicle as well. The original paperwork for
the vehicle is included in the sale. What a car!
