Vehicle Description
One of the most iconic mid-century, atomic-age American
automobiles, a top-of-the-line 1959 Mercury Colony Park station
wagon. This particular example was purchased new at Germain Edsel
Inc. In Columbus, Ohio on 10/5/59 by Mr. Sanford C. Shults. Much of
the factory-correct "01" Tuxedo Black paint is original to the
vehicle, and a correct "240" White/Red interior is still present
(with recovered seats). The original drivetrain is still powering
the vehicle, and consists of a 383ci/322hp 4-barrel V8 engine
paired to a Merc-o-Matic transmission. This Colony Park is equipped
with power steering, power brakes, power windows, heater and
defroster, push-button radio, third seat, whitewall tires, tinted
windshield, windshield washer, backup lights, and power tailgate
window, along with all of the standard equipment. This vehicle is
in excellent running and driving condition, has been extremely well
cared for throughout its life, and is ready to be thoroughly
enjoyed by its new owner. Accompanying the vehicle is the original
window sticker, original dealer invoice, original build sheet,
original owner's manual, AAA compass booklet, some vintage
registrations and extensive service and maintenance receipts. Bid
with confidence on this one!
