1955 Chevrolet Blue/Ivory Bel Air
Car History
The 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is considered a huge turning point for
Chevrolet and has become an icon of the 1950's Chevrolets. The '55
Chevy was the first successful Chevrolet with an optional V8
engine. The new 265-cubic-inch overhead valve V8 was designed to be
smaller, lighter, and more powerful than previous V8s in the auto
industry.
We have a highly restored frame off two-tone Robin Egg blue/Ivory
1955 Chevy here at Adventure Classics that has had a complete
restoration from top to bottom with a small block Chevrolet engine
and wide-whites to boot.
Engine & Drivetrain
When you open the hood you will see the iconic small block
Chevrolet engine painted Chevrolet Orange on the block, intake, and
Chevrolet scripted valve covers, with a compliment of original
looking parts like the black painted factory air cleaner, factory
cast iron exhaust headers, distributor, and all the other stock
parts, with it all sitting in a very clean and detailed engine
compartment.
The engine pushes back the horsepower to the automatic transmission
that puts the power to the ground via the Chevrolet turquoise
painted steel wheels and the factory hub caps shod with wide white
sidewall period correct tires.
Interior
The interior shows a similar level of restoration and is a two-tone
Robin Egg blue/dark blue and that coordinates with the exterior
color to give this a nice flow inside and out.
It has a split bench front seat and matching rear seat as well as
the matched door panels and the headliner. The smooth twin cowl
dash looks great as does all the factory gauges and controls with a
clock and push button radio, side vent windows, artful steering
factory Chevrolet steering wheel, and blue carpets and floor
mats.
Exterior
Our 55 wears a Robin Egg Blue blue/Ivory two-tone paint job that
you will marvel at, and it remains in its authentic appearance
enhanced by the best in modern paint.
The chrome and brightwork is nice as is the chrome front and rear
bumpers and the jet-inspired hood ornament. It has been fully
restored underneath too.
Conclusion
This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air we have here at Adventure Classics, has
a great legacy, great restoration, great engine, and is a Tri-Five
icon that looks even better than when it was new.
